Did you seriously just thumbs down Enemy Unknown?

I did from day one. No editor/map randomizer = zero replay value for that game. Anyone paying more than $5 for it paid too much - including me. And that says nothing of the other shortcomings of that game. I still feel ripped off.

That game has a ton of replay value even without a map randomizer.

What do you want to know? Did you lpay it way back when? It was awesome then, and it is awesome now. Aoe2 is my favorite out of all of them over the years. One that I go back to over and over.

At that price, it is worth it just for the nostalgia in my opinion. If you don't have 3, then get the big pack, aoe2+expansion +Aoe3. Not a bad amount of gaming.

I still have my copies of 2 and 3 (though I wouldn't mind having it on Steam so I could free myself of the discs). I was wondering mostly about the DLC and how much it really adds.

'The sales suck this year' is different from saying 'There are some good sales this year but not for anything I want' or 'the sales suck this year because i own most of the things and dont see a lot of new sales'. When you make a subjective comment it sort of helps if you explain it a bit. I can recognize his opinion while also thinking its stupid.

This. Opinions are fine as long as they are logical and informed by facts. Claiming that these sales suck despite the fact that there have been many unprecedented discounts is not a reasonable opinion.

Cutters comment that I took issue with was that all the vendors were "dialing in the sales" this year. If he had not added this ignorant comment I probably wouldn't have replied in the first place. But I replied with the factual info to prove his statement wrong, that no, sales were not being "dialed in" and many prices were the cheapest some games had yet been.

Today his comment is that maybe it's too soon for the games on his wishlist to go on too big of a discount. Now we have some logic setting in. If only he had said that in the first place...

Looking at his Wishlist, there are several games that he could have or could still get at their cheapest prices. 2 of which were on sale yesterday, were both noted as being the cheapest they had yet been...yet he did not buy them.

I haven't bought anything this sale yet myself, but I have my own reasons for it. My computer is getting too old to handle some games (that's why they are at the bottom of my Wishlist instead of already purchased). Also because I haven't been working, because I have tons of other un-played games, and I've set a budget of what's in my Steam Wallet (roughly $10 - more cards more money). So I'm being picky. But I don't think the sales have been bad. I probably could have spent $50 already if I had a decent computer and was working.

We also knew 3 months ago from the leaked email, that the Autumn Sale and the Xmas Sale would be the same prices. With the Xmas Sale being longer, we'd probably just see more games participating in the Daily and Flash sales.

If you're agreeing with that tool than you're just as bad as he is. How dumb are you? This is entirely about personal tastes and personal ideas about what constitute value, and those are subjective.

When you post your subjective opinion about taste and sales discounts on the internet you open it up to people criticizing it. No one has to respect your opinion, there isn't a law or rule that says your opinion is some special entity that everyone else must tap dance around so we don't offend you.

If you don't like the sales then buy things somewhere else, there have been a ton of great sales on all digital services this winter so you really shouldn't be lacking for opportunity unless you're just whining.

Discussion of the subject, yes, but to say his opinion is objectively wrong is wrong. He made an (implied) subjective comment and Jerykk said "The lack of objectivity some people display is astounding." - while agreeing with Cutter makes me feel deeply uncomfortable, naturally, a subjective list isn't trying to be objective. The criticism is that it fails to be something that it isn't trying to be.

You don't have to respect his opinion but you do have to recognise that it is his opinion.

With regards to The Wolf Among Us, did all the chapters come bundled with the PC version, or is it in installments? And if it's the latter, have they come out yet?

Okay, the website (pays to look, doesn't it?) says only the first installment has been released. I don't fancy buying the game and then waiting for the rest of it.

Yeah. The first episode hooked me pretty instantly... back in October when I picked it up. There has been like zero mention of when Episode 2 is going to be out. The last Telltale mentioned was that we'd hear word of the release date after Christmas. I guess they wanted to launch Walking Dead season 2 first.

It's frustrating.

Yeah - I hate "start-and-stop gaming". That is why I am waiting for the full season before I buy it. Same with Season 2 of Walking Dead. I played Season 1 of Walking Dead in a 2-day-period and that's how I plan on playing Season 2 and Wolf Among Us. I watch a TV series the same way.

Agreed. The lack of objectivity some people display is astounding. The quality of a sale is determined by both the extent of its discounts and the amount of unprecedented discounts. There have been plenty of both in these holiday sales across all sites.

If you're agreeing with that tool than you're just as bad as he is. How dumb are you? This is entirely about personal tastes and personal ideas about what constitute value, and those are subjective.

If you believe that the entire world revolves around you, then sure. However, it is possible to have an opinion that isn't exclusively informed by your own narrow viewpoint and bias. Opinions should be informed by logic and reason. For example, I haven't bought much in these sales because I already had most of what I want. However, I'm able to recognize that a lot of these games have never been this cheap before and that many games, regardless of my interest in them, have been discounted for the very first time during these sales. As such, it's unreasonable to claim that these sales have been worthless when these quantifiable factors are taken into consideration.

There is no point in trying to use logic with Cutter. He lacks the capacity to grasp anything you just wrote.
