Out of the Blue

I had a 12 win week in Beat the Insiders, which isn't as good as it sounds since a lot of us did well. The good news, so to speak, is I was so far down in the rankings I still ended up being listed as "most improved" for the week by moving up two spots. The comeback continues when week 15 gets underway tonight, so watch out! A mere dozen wins stand between me and first place.

I'm thinking I'll try the first showing sunday morning. Then make a day of it, there are a couple other movies I'd like to see too.

Yeah, whenever I go, I always try to hit the first showing, to hopefully minimize the crowd. No way in hell will I go to evening shows. Too many damn people...

I was surprised when booking the tickets by how few had pre-booked for Sunday night, I guess with the smaller population here & the sheer number of runs per day.
Looking forward to it.

I felt bad until I saw in the description that they were fire ants. And then I was like "yeah, fuck those guys!"

5 Reasons the Video Game Industry Is About to Crash.

I didn't know ASeven was writing for Cracked now!

The article is right about the issues with gaming, but I don't think it indicates the market is "about to crash" at all. To me it's like the Social Security in the US - while it is clearly unsustainable indefinitley, I've been hearing that it is "about to go bankrupt" for about 40 years!
"The assumption that animals are without rights, and the illusion that our treatment of them has no moral significance, is a positively outrageous example of Western crudity and barbarity. Universal compassion is the only guarantee of morality."

The Lord of the Rings trilogy took over as my all time favorite movies when they were released. Since then I have seen everything PJ has done, and loved most of it. And I have been waiting for him to do the Hobbit even since The Fellowship was released.

TL;DR - You bet your ass I am going!

Waiting until Monday though. I hate crowds. Only 4 other people in the theater when I saw Riddick. We have assigned seating with awesome leather recliners in our theater. Almost as good as home as long as there aren't a lot of people. (Except I can't pause it when I need to pee.)

Edited to add: Oblivion, Fast 6, Riddick, and now the Hobbit are the only theater experiences for me this year. This was actually a busy theater year for me. I usually wait for the bluray release.

A) That was a great trailer. Love the music. Love Emily Blunt - or rather lust after her.

B) Mandela was beyond over-rated. Turned SA into a third world shithole that is still the murder, rape, and robbery capital of the world. The ANC is completely corrupt. The list goes on and on. Yeah, he suffered for his cause, big whoop.

Blue,

Not to be a downer, but with my 12 win week I get the message that I am the most improved by moving up two slots. So I think the Insiders cleverly lets each of us think we are doing great. How diabolical of them.

Clearly, someone can't handle a inoffensive opposing point of view here. Rather pathetic the administrator of the site saw fit to remove it rather allowing a very innocuous observation to stand. Says a lot.

Thank you, nin and harlock for quoting/reposting my comment.
