However enthousiastic I am about The Witcher 3, I can't help but have this strong fear that the game will have too high game requirements. I know games keep looking better and better and keep needing less and less high-end hardware doing so, but man The Wild Hunt looks fucking sick.

Maybe it's just me and a few others, but when I have to scale down allot of graphical features for a game to have a good framerate.. I bail out. Never touched Crysis 3 because I upgraded my rig the month it came out and the game made me feel like I pissed my 1,1K Euros away..

Wild Hunt does look great. But how will it play? That's my question.

I suspect it will play a lot like Witcher 2, though I've read they are making improvements to the combat.

That would be good. Hopefully they can improve the level-design, too.

Both games look promising!

I like how they gave Garrett some more character in this trailer. He's not just some thief, according to the old hag in the trailer.

The Witcher 3.. My god. Can't wait!

Witcher 3 looks fantastic.

I'm still working on Witcher 1, but I do have Witcher 2 which I haven't played yet.

As far as Thief goes, it looks interesting story-wise and the gameplay does remind of the originals - will have to see how that one plays out. It seems they are trying hard to personalize him or something, which is odd, because a master thief probably wouldn't tell anyone their actual identity. I have yet to complete the third 'in deadly shadows' game.

The Witcher 3 looks great. However, Thief looks terrible, especially after Dishonored set the bar so high. This looks like a B-project from a second rate studio, not the next major project from the developer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

What specifically looks so terrible about Thief? Also, the DX:HR team isn't working on it. They're working on the next DX game. Thief is being done by another team at the studio.

Here's some extended gameplay footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U1iX-X5yKzs

Nothing I've seen or read sounds particularly offensive to me. The game seems faithful to the series. It doesn't have superpowers like Dishonored but it's not supposed to be Dishonored. It's supposed to be Thief.

BTW: Before someone watches the footage I linked and freaks out about the instant takedown at 2:30, keep in mind that those takedowns consume Focus, a finite resource which is depleted through various actions and can only be replenished by using a rare pickup. Also, Focus is completely optional and can even be disabled via difficulty mods. There are also difficulty mods that disallow takedowns and Focus entirely, as well as triggering a fail state if you are detected or take any damage. So if you lack self-restraint, you can use these difficulty mods to force you to play stealthily.

Both look good, there is also a new Thief game play trailer as well. But the trailer here in my O, sets up a nice story, easily as good (with what little known) as any other Thief game has had.

I own Witcher 2 (got it in a bundle I believe) but have yet to play it. I never finished the first and have wanted to but it's some ways down the backlog. I'm sure I'll get to them during the 'dry season' after new years.

First played Witcher (the 2nd) this year after the summer sale. Amazing game. Cannot wait to see it in more of an open world concept, and the graphics (fire especially) look STUNNING.
