The regular internet was dead the moment smartphones started using it with the morons who agreed to the pay for X bandwidth a month.

3:17 am. Seems early for the dumbest post of the day, but there you have it.

FCC chair: ISPs should be able to charge Netflix for Internet fast lane.

US continues to hamstring itself while rest of world's development accelerates.

We're already (over)paying the ISPs for our connections. They make a boatload of cash, given that they've got monopoly/duopoly market power and charge double the price for a fifth of the bandwidth compared to the rest of the industrialized world (except Canada). I honestly have no idea why Obama thought this guy was good. Maybe he doesn't, maybe he just thought "This is the only guy I can get past the Tea Party."

Dude, hasn't occurred to you yet that Obama is a DINO. Tell me where he hasn't appointed lobbyists like any other president. He stacked agriculture with ex-Monsanto and Cargill execs and lobbyists. And that pattern continues through everything he does. He's a snake oil salesman. Hope and change is right, hope that the elites acquire even more power and money, and changing everything to ensure that happens.

Not sure how that makes him a DINO and not "standard politician."

The balls on that Wheeler guy. He's just settling into his position and already wants to do a 180 on the FCC's net neutrality stance in favor of anti-consumer rules for cable and telecoms.

He was a previous lobbyist for the telcoms. Who here is surprised?

It was quite funny to see Ars actually defending the guy a month or so ago, saying that he was promising all sorts of good stuff. Morons.

You'd think he'd at least wait for the fanfair to die down before trying to completely wreck the internet in favor of corporate profit of his ex-employers (he was a big-time lobbyist for the industries for years).
