Just to add to the confusion I can say that I always install the latest Nvidia beta driver the second it's released and I have never once had to roll back the drivers.

I realize that depening on hardware/software, your experience will vary quite a lot, but this has always been my experience over the years with Nvidia hardware.

There have been a few notable exceptions in the last 10 years or so, but overall, my experience is that overall it is rock solid. It does lead me to wonder why some people always seem to have these issues whereas others don't. It could be blind luck of course, or something else might be involved.

Point being, you should never imagine that your experience is valid for everyone else. Try to be a little bit humble and towards other peoples experiences. For all you know, they could be way closer to the average experience than you are.

Even though my current 331.58 drivers are stable, i'm going to give these a try as i'm playing Blackflag on my two 460's. Also i seem to have way less driver issues then a lot of you guys, not sure why. Maybe has to do with that i only install the driver and physx, and not the 3d or audio or nvidia experience crap (just guessing?). Anyways will report back in a day with my findings.

Black Flag does indeed seem to run better now. Great game, first AssCreed game but I bought it for the pirates

For anyone who's been having trouble with desktop and browser instability with the latest drivers, as I was, these might do the trick. I've got a 460 GTX and wasn't able to install anything past 314.22 without getting frequent crashes.

Been using 331.58 for the past week or so (which were posted in the Nvidia forum as a test driver) and all's been well so far.

GTX 460 owner here. Halle-frickin'-lujah.

Even worse is I'll never know if it gets fixed as I'm not going to be swapping cables to test every driver release going forward.

Why don't you just hook both cables up and switch inputs?

Even so, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you're running dual-link DVI, it's every bit as good as display port.

Every driver past 314.22 on my 2x670 SLI had a gamma issue or something every boot. My screen would be all washed out. I would have to go touch the Digital Vibrance control to fix it every boot and after every sleep. My monitor was connected via DisplayPort.

I reported this every single time a new driver came out via Nvidia's feedback form as they request with no fix.

I finally tried hooking it up with a DVI cable instead after reading a few posts and that fixed the problem. Sad that Nvidia can't probably support the latest display interface. Even worse is I'll never know if it gets fixed as I'm not going to be swapping cables to test every driver release going forward.

Derp. I am running them. Are you implying AMD/ATI does not have driver issues? Now that is a laugh.

The only one who's implied that AMD/ATI doesn't have driver issues so far is you. So feel free to laugh on that, much like your post of nonsense about "no recent drivers" which was also incorrect.

But hey, you want to run to nvidia that's your own choice. I bailed 2ish months ago from nvidia to amd because of horrendous driver issues that have been on-going since 293. My personal favorite was the 310's I believe it was causing hardlocks across all 400, 500, and 600 series cards.

Same. I've got two 460 GTXs and 320.49 were the latest stable drivers I could find. Everything after that caused random crashes even on desktop/firefox. So hopefully these fix that.

Thanks! Been having bluescreen reboot crashes lately in Firefox with 331.65 & 331.82 on my GTX560. Just installed 331.58 and hopefully won't see any more nasty crashes now...

They released one a few weeks ago. And their work on Mantle is directly related to that constant need to optimize drivers for new titles nonsense.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on that one.

Well 'maximum' is a relative term. They don't guarantee it's flawless, just that it's as good as it gets right now.
