“Our ambition from the start with Watch_Dogs has been to deliver something that embodies what we wanted to see in the next-generation of gaming. It is with this in mind that we’ve made the tough decision to delay the release until Spring 2014.
We know a lot of you are probably wondering ‘why now?’ We struggled with whether we would delay the game. But from the beginning, we have adopted the attitude that we will not compromise on quality. As we got closer to release, as all the pieces of the puzzle were falling into place in our last push before completion, it became clear to us that we needed to take the extra time to polish and fine tune every detail so we can deliver a truly memorable and exceptional experience.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you. We thoroughly enjoy and appreciate the way you respond on the web, at events, press conferences and during other opportunities we have to interact. Your passion is what drives us.
We can’t wait to see you in Chicago next Spring. We are confident you’ll love this game as much as we love working on it.”

Ubisoft shares down 20% on the news, haha wow. Also Rayman Legends and Splinter Cell Blacklist failed to meet sales expectations. Shame about that, they were both very solid games but I suspect they are going through audience fatigue, you can't iterate on something forever.

Yeah it's a good laugh upfront, but that just means the next time they'll release their games unfinished.

Wow, I'll have to consider canceling my PS4 preorder now. It doesn't look like there will be anything worth while this year.

I wonder what this is going to do to my Amazon pre order bundle of a PS4 and Watch Dogs.
They better still fucking ship the console for launch day.
There's a thread over at K...one guy was told his console would ship when the game ships (yikes!), but two others said amazon was removing the game from their order and dropping the price to the console only price (w/ delivery on the 15th).
I'd urge you to get something in writing.

For those of you who pre-order the Watch Dogs PlayStation 4 bundle—don’t worry—you will still be getting your Playstation 4 (without Watch Dogs) based on your current delivery estimate. We are adjusting the orders now and will update you once we know more.
Grin....I'm sure everyone is glad they posted that useful tid bit of information, as I thought for sure they would delay shipment of the PS4 until Watch Dogs was ready to ship.
and why would they do that? they have stocks of ps4s, they have orders in hand for them. just ship. it would be monumentally boneheaded of them to just sit on a stack of consoles for six months waiting for a game. and amazon is the least boneheaded of any major corp that i can think of.
