If you are using Nvidia graphics card downgrade to 320 driver.
It solved all my lag and performance issues, game runs fine on Ultra settings.
I've been having choppy performance issues as well. I'll try the roll back

Apparently it's Punkbuster that caused my loading screen issue. Some things never change.

Yeah, I tried loading th egame again my my desktop last night and almost fell over when it actually started. Then I got stuck at the loading screen. PB update and it played. Very laggy, though. Not sure if it is my drivers, the unoptimized beta code, or just network lag.

I was stuck on the loading screen last night also for the first 2-3 tries, but the 4th time I was able to get into the game and never had any log in issues after that.

Actually barely playable on my 5870 hd, I was shocked, upgrading graphics soon though so it won't be an issue.

It does feel different than BF3 in some ways, it's hard to explain. Perhaps it's the vertical nature of the map. It feels the pace is slower but I can't tell if that's due to lag or not. They did make a lot of subtle improvements to BF3 (kill cam, etc). It's all about the maps. I do like the beta map, it's probably better than any map in BF3.

Nvidia error, different than the DirectX error I sometimes get on BF3. Deleted.

If you have Nvidia card, use the 320.49 driver.
Solved the slow down issues completely. Game runs like butter now.

This sucks. I missed BF3 and now it looks like BF4 is going to sail by too. I don't even have the 1 megabit connection required.

I'm getting stuck in the loading screen every time I try to join a server. I guess BF1942 will remain the last Battlefield game I've played regularly.

It runs surprisingly well on my antiquated GTX260. Overall the game seems pretty smooth and looks good, I am not sure what setting that seems to be locked in the Beta but regardless it looks pretty good
I have a Q9650 processor

For me the worst bit is it stutters every time something interesting happens, like a gun being fired. But as long as I stay away from the violent parts of the game, the frame rate is just tolerable.

Similar experience here, however sometimes mid match the framerate smooths out and no more choppiness.
I am thinking it is a server side lag of some sort not a hardware related frame rate drop.
Running everything on ultra and the game runs smooth i5-2500 and 760GTX

If you're using a CPU with hyperthreading, disable it in BIOS and you'll see a huge performance gain.

Enjoying the beta so far, lots of really nice little changes here and there. They took a lot of community feedback from BF3 into consideration it seems.

Playing on Ultra and with War Tapes as the sound option and volume up is pretty fucking impressive.

I see users in game complaining of performance, even with similar specs to me. I hit recommended (2gb vid card instead of 3gb, 16gb ram instead of 8) with new Nvidia drivers and performance is crisp. A little slower after the building comes down and it gets foggy in the middle.

I don't even have the newest drivers on my laptop and I run on Ultra. I haven't checked the fps, but it seems smooth. No stuttering or choppy video.

I wonder how they can say it needs 1.6 GB of disk space when my install is over 5 GB.

I see, so, no difference between BF3 and BF4. Basicaly BF4 is DICE finishing their BF3 homework for things such as "UI Customization options", "Big levels", couple more game-modes, and other gimmick/features; oh, and hey!, we'll enable commander mode again.

Okay, noted.

So, people should stay playing BF3 then.

So I had been told that my 9800GT would not work well with BF3. But now this BF4 beta tells me an 8800GT is OK for low settings so what the fuck? I'm doing it.

Sure wish I still had my Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 3 GHz... I'm on a 2.6 GHz Athlon X2 at the moment and MAN does it suck!

I can't believe they are saying a 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo is equivalent to a 2.8 GHz Athlon X2... That's just ridiculous!

EDIT: I just realized they want me to have at least 4 GB of memory... and I only have 2.
