Out of the Blue

A problem in our downstairs toilet is forcing its replacement, as it would not stop running in spite attempts to repair and replace its ancient inner workings. The plumber says the new toilet will pay for itself very quickly in water bill savings, which is cool. We'd break even on this even sooner if I was willing to try installing it myself, but in spite of what a simple process this seems to be, I don't have the experience or the nerve to attempt it for fear of the floods and other horrors I'm imagining an error could cause. The other thing is that this toilet is touted as one that can be abused without being clogged, so it's good that I already learned my lesson about not flushing the wrong things, so hopefully that experience will keep me out of trouble here.

Original investment into GTA5 Bawsaq: $1.2M (3 days ago?)

Current Value: $23.8M.

Guess I might be ready to cash out and do the assassination missions I was waiting to get some money for!

Spoiler for anyone who likes to discover stuff on thier own in GTA.

ST Remember a certain cargo plane that went down in the lake? Well I just did a little lake diving and its there at the bottom. Lots of weapons strewn about, not much else that I could see. I used the cargobob the airlift the zodiac to the lake so I could use scuba gear to search the bottom.

Speaking of flushing things, I was SO disappointed to never see Trevor actually try to flush a human leg in GTA5.

Maybe it's one of the "snap to" deals, where it only has a chance of happening when you switch to him?

I had one last night where Trevor was at muscle beach, arguing with two guys about why he needed to shave his back before he could work out there. As I gained control of the character, two heavies were moving in melee me. I whooped out the silenced pistol and shot one in the chest, and another in the back, as he attempted to flee. Good times...

I try to stay in character when things like that happen. So Franklin would actually fight guys like that, while with Trevor I just whip out a shotgun and fire 24 times in each guy. And he keeps it up even when the cops are there. 24 times in each, then he'll deal with the cops.

Nothing like the smell of human excrement to give man a real appetite, am I right?

I've installed a few turlets in my time and believe me, they're one of the easiest things to replace around the house. Most of your general household plumbing repair is easy as pie. About the only thing I won't fiddle with in the house are electrics. Everything else is fair game and generally easy and safe.

I'm with Robonerd in recommending a Toto brand if your able. They are like having an industrial toilet in your home. Crazy suction and after 3 years I've never had to plunge it once. I never thought I would get so excited over a toilet but I was blown away that they made such powerful home toilets when I saw the Toto in action.

The, uh, things you learn on the internet.

What Blue REALLY wants to know is, WILL IT HANDLE CHICKEN BONES?

Installing toilets is actually pretty easy. I had never done it before and I replaced both toilets in our house. No floods, no leaks. Of course, it requires bolt cutters to cut down the bolts after you install so you can place the nice plastic caps over them.

4 years later my bolts are still bare and uncut. Which reminds me, I need to buy bolt cutters.

Blue, I'm pretty sure you are younger(ish) than me, but if you see yourself staying in this house and growing old there consider installing an ADA height toilet now. A good toilet can last decades. As far as brands, I am partial to Toto myself.

Toilets might be tampon friendly, but not always your sewer line.

This! I wanted to murder my girlfriend after I spent an entire day removing my toilet bowl and unclogging a sewer line about 3-4 meters down only to find a thick milky white substance in the middle of the clogged pile of....its too disgusting to write about, but anyway it appeared the white stuff was used cotton makeup tabs.

I wasnt that pissed about her throwing that shit in the toilet, most poeple have no clue about whats flushable and what isnt, but that she would lie to my face about doing it even AFTER I found the evidence....damn nearly broke up because of the damned shitter.
I have a nifty blue line!
