I haven't even looked at this game. Like many I just assumed it was like a Sleeping Dogs sequel or something. Watching this I'm rather excited. If even half of this is actually dynamic and not scripted out the ass I'll pick it up.

Only thing that worries me a bit is how easy it appears to hack anything. A simple press of a button and you're in any system in the game? I understand it would get boring QUICK if you had to go through a mini-game on every hack but there should be some aspect to hacking beyond 'hold Q'. Maybe I'm missing something and just haven't looked into the game enough.

Then again this is Ubisoft and Assassin's Creed is basically just that. You basically hold or click one button to do everything from fighting to climbing, interacting, sneaking, you name it.

Shit, I wish we'd get a Sleeping Dogs sequel. That is a really, REALLY good game, that deserved to sell a lot more copies than it did. Best story in an open-world game, the kung-fu works great, the shooting is solid (what little of it you do), the open world itself is cool. Really the only thing that sucks in the game is the driving, which I do have to say is absolutely fucking terrible.

I kind of agree with the hacking thing, but someone made a comment somewhere to the effect of "Remember the hacking in Bioshock and how it quickly got old? Now imagine having to do that in a game like this, where you hack 30000 things by the time it's all said and done." And that's a very good point. They really can't design a mini-game that's going to stand up that long.

As for this basically being AC, well, all of Ubisoft's games are now basically the same game with a slightly different coat of paint. In AC you climb towers and Sync with them to unlock a circular portion of the map. In Watch Dogs, you hack ctOS substations to unlock a circular portion of the map. In Far Cry 3, you climb radio towers and turn off the jammer to unlock a circular portion of the map.

And there's plenty more examples like that.

Really they just make the same game over and over again now. Fortunately it's a game I enjoy playing, so I don't really mind.

I wonder if there will be any skill tree type customization of Aiden to enhance it though.

There is a skill tree, yes, and part of the skill tree improves your hacking. Surprise surprise, it looks a bit like the one in Far Cry 3.
