BF4 Gamescom Details Wrap-up [Aug 26, 2013, 08:49 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
BF4Central recaps the details they picked up at Gamescom about
Battlefield 4, the upcoming military shooter sequel that's their site's main
focus. Word is the game will launch with seven game modes and 10 multiplayer
maps, and they note for comparison that Battlefield 3 launched with nine maps and five
game modes. They also report that Battlefield 4 Commander mode will not be present
in all game modes, and that it will only be used in objective based modes
like Conquest, Rush, and Obliteration. Wrapping things up with some uncertainty,
they point out that it has not yet been confirmed if all game modes will be playable
on all maps.
An open mic in your ear with some fools horrible music playing in the background, people speaking foreign languages, people trying to be armchair generals bossing everyone around.
That's my experience with voice chat in games that have it.
It's only squad level VoIP right now and will have toggle/mute features supposedly. If you don't want it then don't use it. I will only use it for the odd time I pub but it will save countless annoying typing sessions where the situation you were trying to warn a squaddie about has already happened and help with basic coordination of things in game. Just even the ability to tell someone to hop in or that its good to spawn/etc would be great.
I just really hope they don't release it in a horrible buggy mess like they did with MoH:Warfighter. They set it to always on and voice activated by default at release.
I would never put it past Dice to fuck something up with a PC release so let's just hope they don't do it here.
