CM Battle for Normandy: Operation Market Garden Announced

Battlefront.com announces Operation Market Garden, an expansion for Combat Mission Battle for Normandy they plan on releasing later this summer. This will depict Montgomery's failed Rhine offensive from late World War II famously depicted in the movie A Bridge Too Far and the miniseries A Band of Brothers (as well as the books of the same name for you literate types). Here's word:
Combat Mission: Market Garden depicts allied Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery's September 1944 dash across Holland in a daring gambit to leap the Rhine river and enter the heartland of Germany itself. Fielding U.S., British and Polish forces, Operation Market Garden was meant to be the lightning stroke which would end the war that year. It included the largest airborne operation seen to that day or since. Market Garden ended in tragedy, though, when the allies failed to capture their final objective, the Rhine river bridge at Arnhem. It was, in the famous words of Lt. General Fredrick "Boy" Browning, a bridge too far.

CM: Market Garden allows the player to recreate Monty's desperate struggles to reach and cross the Rhine in Holland. It is an expansion module to Combat Mission: Battle for Normandy and requires the base game in order to play, upgraded to 2.0! No other modules are required.

Its Combat Mission, the graphics did not really matter back when it first came out. And it kinda still does not matter. CM has been a usually wonderful war game exp. It only requires enough to convey the setting and the units. Also if the modding scene is on top of things you can download user made graphic enhancements that make the game really look sweet.
- That's a very nice everything you have there... ssssssssSSSSSSSSSSS -

Yeah, the were both vastly overrated. Particularly compared to guys like Patton and Rundstedt. And yes, the fact they never credit Canada's roles in these games is criminal given its importance in the war.

Montgomery was a horrible general, it was a shame because the brits had better generals. He supposedly was credited for beating Rommel, when in actuality, the only thing that beat Rommel was his horrible state of supply.

Montgomery messed up Market Garden, and then delayed the allies immensely at D-Day. Ike tried to avoid the man like the plague.

You're overestimating Rommel. He was a charismatic person, but not a great strategist. He sent thousands of men into battles that he could not win, and his military advisors told him so. Still he insisted on his operations, sacrificing the lives of the soldiers that believed in him.
Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.

You know what would be neat? If they gave Canadians more recognition in war-related games instead of just lumping them in with the British. I can understand why such would be the case in WW1 as we had yet to gain military autonomy but even then, the Canadian army were some of the most crucial forces in many battles and it'd be nice if it wasn't just 'murica or 'British' soldiers shown doing the grunt work in games which attempt to be historically accurate to events.
