Yeah. I just do quick random Flash games. I do play a lot of text and turned based Uno (current game is over 20.5 hours already) and Rumble/Junkyard in IRC. Haha.

I strongly disagree. My brother loves the fact that his wife and kids can be downstairs watching TV while he's upstairs playing a game on the Wii U's tabletesque controller.

Funny, I can do that too, and I don't need a wiiU for it.

Likewise, when several of us were over for a party and played the haunted mansion game, it was actually a lot of fun to have it so that no one else could see what the person controlling the ghost was doing.

I think the real problem with the controller isn't the controller, but the lack of games that really leverage its strengths.

Not rocket science. Nintendo needs to go back to making powerful systems rather than relying on a controller.

How about a bundle including Wii U and 3DS (not XL) for $300. Might work for me...

Same. I also wanted to see what Retro could do with more horespower. We get another DK Country. Yeah cause the WiiU really needs more 2D platformers right?

I wouldn't mind pikmin 3 or the nsmb game. Those are interesting to me. Just not interesting enough. The system has a smell of death about it and that just keeps people away - no matter the price.

3ds was pretty close to this bad at first, but it picked up after a price drop and some decent software. But then it was a pretty cool system to begin with that just lacked games.

WiiU is just not clear. From the design of the system, to the games nintendo has pushed, to the marketing, to the name... Everything about it seems very poorly thought out. Casual gamers don't know what it is, and hardcore gamers have no reason to buy it.

Yeah good points man, agreed with everything you said there. The 3DS "gimmick" is actually decent and I'm not a big lover of 3D functionality. You can normally pick up a 3DS XL on sale for about $140-150 which is about what I expect to pay for a relatively underpowered handheld that has a solid library of titles.

The Wii U is pricy as hell for underpowered specs, third party support is getting very iffy and the tablet doesn't add much value. The confusing name and brand association has hurt it more than its helped with the mass market.

I agree, it's not the price. It's the fact that it's an underpowered, weird-ass hybrid console with zero interesting games to play on it.

Wii U pricing is not the issue, says Iwata.

I can't tell you a single game I'm wanting to play on the wiiu...same with the vita. If you don't have software, you're screwed...

Wii U pricing is not the issue, says Iwata.

It's a bit of both pricing and software. The system is expensive and has a poor prospect of future third party titles. Normally that wouldn't be an issue if there was a lot of Nintendo first party software but there isn't. Nintendo really needs to stop launching systems before they have adequate first party support lined up. They also really screwed up with the controller, if you're going to make a tablet it better have feature parity with a $150 Android device.
