I was pleasantly surprised. I am a huge Castlevania fan and never bothered with any of the 3D ones because they are generally shit but this was well done.
Still waiting for a proper 2D sequel to Dawn of Sorrow.
you've got to be referring to the graphics, because the controls for this game are utter shit. This game didn't last but 5 mins on my pc until I removed it.
This game screams console port, and demands a controller to even play it.
A shame too, Patrick Stewarts narrating was kewl. but game play wise what a piece of shit.
Agreed. But then I'd go further and say you must be crazy to play a console game on a PC and use a controller too. Unless you don't have a console, of course, and you really wanna play the game in question.

Played the demo. Just horrible. Graphics are alright -- with some proper detail for a change, unlike Darksiders! -- but the rest is horrible.
His weapon makes no fucking sense: a crusefix the size of his lower arm, yet it releases a chain spike so long that could lodge onto the fucking moon. Other than that this game is simply too much a console game. I don't fault the game for it, of course, because it IS, but it's just a reminder that I really don't like that stuff. You see the target group of the devs all over it: 12-15 year old boys who want to play pretend being the castlevania protagonist on the playground -- the way the guy walks tough, etc. And then those fucking cutscenes during and after almost Every. Fucking. Kill! So horrid. Gotta desuade my wife into buying a PS3 ater this reminder.

Get shunted off to the next tiny arena to fight a bunch of guys, potentially with a minigame interlude.
Unfortunately true. I got the collector's edition for PS3 and man, it's just a boring, boring, boring action game. The plot is tedious. The environments are tedious. The combat is tedious. The only thing worth mentioning is the OST.

DRM aside, Lords of Shadow is, in my opinion, an excellent game. I highly recommend it.
I did a review of it, too.

Anyhow, great game if you like the God of War style. Atmosphere and soundtrack are awesome.
