YOU TRIPPIN BALLS, MAN.

I hate jRPGs and love 4 player games.
Man, even the WWF games on the N64 were awesome if you had 4 people.

This I actually agree with, the problem was instead of getting the Ultra 64 with direct ports of Killer Instinct and Cruising the USA/World etc we got a far less powerful system with the usual nintendo franchises and not much for those who were already tired of Mario/zelda typical Nintendo platformers etc.

Golden Eye and some of the WWF games were a blast 4 player, otherwise though the system was outdated tech and specs wise before it ever hit a store shelf.

I will never understand how they could have been so retarded and foolish as to release a console with a processor slower than some cell phones have.

It's not that bad. The Wii-U is pretty comparable to the 360. (in most respects)
BUT - The developer tools are no where near the 360 or even the PS3 dev tools.
When Sony bought SN systems, Nintendo went from having mediocre devtools to terrible dev tools.
When it's a pain in the ass to get the a dev console to even display a developer settings menu (10 step+ process from pulling out of a factory box) there's no wonder EA and others have recoiled from even trying to port to it. Hardware wise: it's so much better than the wii, but no one has a mature tool chain to work with it like we have with the wii.
I'm excited to dig into the new (MS/Sony) hardware in the upcoming months.

I was a boy poster child for Nintendo but even I realized how ridiculously better the PSX/PS2 libraries were.

I feel like the n64 and GameCube games have aged more gracefully as well. I was playing Metroid Prime again recently and that game still looks great in my opinion.

People like to jump on your shit for your conservative-leaning rhetoric, but man alive I'm gonna find you and I'm gonna end you for this one. I was a boy poster child for Nintendo but even I realized how ridiculously better the PSX/PS2 libraries were.

Hahahaa. Man, more than a few people here will probably like to find you and end you for saying that I have conservative leanings. RollinThundr and that other guy love to tell me how in love I am with Obama.

Anyway, I didn't like the PS graphics, and I'd take Perfect Dark, GoldenEye, Smash Brothers, Mario, Starfox, etc., over anything on the PS. It probably comes down to whether you played single player or multiplayer, but with 4 controller ports the N64 was unquestionably the better multiplayer system. I played the N64 almost exclusively with 3 other people at any given time.

Conservative leanings he says. lol! Made my whole week there.

Sorry but I agree with him. At my place there was a lot of multiplayer gaming going on and the N64/GC absolutely crushed the PS1/PS2 in that area. I actually miss those day, online gaming just isn't the same.

They should go back to cartridges!

In my very biased eyes the SNES was their best system. Maybe they could do SNESHD . Focus on fun simple games instead of coming up with new (bizarre) controller gimmicks to try and keep people interested in their brand.

The N64 was great too. Initally many people scoffed at it because it clung to the cartridge while everyone else was going CD. The games were great though - I was constantly bumping my son off of it so I could play Starfox.

The Nintendo games have always been great.
The SNES may be the last truly dominant Nintendo console (excluding handhelds), but the N64 was infinitely better than the PS in my eyes, and the GC was the best of that generation for me, too. Those two consoles lived and died based upon first party games, but they were outstanding.

GC had Mario Kart (I'd argue the best to date), Smash Brothers (the same), and, uh... I can't recall what else I played on that system now, but my roommates and I were playing it 4 hours a day, 6 days a week for a long, long, long while.

... and a gimmick which just drives cost up and my interest down. GBA was where it was at. All the morons need to do is progressively increase hardware power in handhelds, not hamstring them with stupid gimmicks. When you're already many generations behind console power you should be doing everything you can to get as close to caught up as is possible. I don't need a fucking stylus to play games, I don't need two screens, and why the fuck would I need 3D when I don't even play my console or PC games in 3D?

I haven't personally costed the internal components of the system but I think it's an ok price on sale at $150-160. The 3D stuff you can literally turn off with a slider and honestly the 3D on the system is actually pretty good anyway, it's well implemented in many games and used for subtle effects unlike most 3D movies. I have never, ever used a stylus in any of my 3DS games so no clue what you're talking about there and the touch screen it uses is fairly cheap judging by the cost of replacements on ebay ($5-10).

I do wish it was as capable as the Vita but then again I don't want to pay Vita prices for a handheld and it would seem many other people share that opinion given its poor sales. The power of the hardware hasn't really hurt the 3DS anyway, there are a lot of cool games on there and the visuals suffice. I do wish it had the power to do AA in every game though.

Now the Wii U on the other hand I think is very underpowered and gimmicky, that's a big problem with third party porting in particular. Given that it's a living room console and devs grumbled about Wii porting problems in the past, that should have been a no brainer for Nintendo.

The Wii U was just bungled from start to finish. Dumb name that confuses people, poorly marketed, underpowered hardware, first party game offerings were few and so on. They can't just scrap it at this point but a relaunch with a new name and a ton of first party games might do wonders.
