Don Mattrick is such a shameless piece of shit. We're delivering thousands of dollars of value to people, so I think they're going to love it when they use it."
I'm not sure where this 'thousands' of dollars of value is coming from, it's either from 'prestige' of being the only person stupid enough to buy an Xbone...or from the free prostate exams every 24 hours.
Exactly, where exactly is this value coming from? Everything about it says I have to pay, pay, pay and keep on paying non-stop. In fact in increases my living costs with absolutely no upside to me and several downsides. So yeah, I'd love to see this PR bullshit speak spelled out specifically in black and white.

And why the hell do you think that PS4 games wouldn't follow an identical scheme?

Was this ever in doubt? Geez if they thought about doing $70 that would have been the only way this thing could get worse.
MS has said that their DRM will allow for lower priced games.

Wait, didn't I read someplace that their reply to the question was "Microsoft Studios" games would be 59.99 but they declined to comment on any other publishers' games? Is this a clarification?
There has been no clarification on standard price for third party games. They could still announce it at $69.99.

If you walk into a Best Buy most of the AAA console games are sitting at $40 now if they've been out for more than a couple months. Seems like there's a pricing depression going on to move units even if the starting point is higher. This trend suggests that no one thinks increasing the base price is good for business right now.

We're over-delivering value against other choices I think consumers can get. Any modern product these days you look at it [and] $499 isn't a ridiculous price point. We're delivering thousands of dollars of value to people, so I think they're going to love it when they use it."
