I would assume so... there are no separate servers or shards for ESO.... just overflow instances like GW2 that is supposed to be intelligent enough to keep you with your friends and guildmates.

It's actually the actor that played Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies after Richard Harris died.

Yea I'm checking this out. I'm hoping it's not P2P because I'm over that shit, and it'd have to be simply mindblowing for me to pay to play again.

I'm a little worried because afaik it has not been playable at any convention to date, even with a release date barely six months away. I was playing GW2 at Pax East two years before it even hit, 40 minutes a go.

Edit: Apprently it will be playable at Gamescom in August (the biggest gaming convention in the western world). Still if they have been unwilling to let people play it this close to launch, that worries me.

So you can play ESO and require a group of 5 to take down that Frost Atronach, or you can log into Skyrim and take one down on your own.

The MMO part is going to kill the feeling of power in the player (as most MMO's have very little power in the players hands).

Just doesn't seem like it will work to me. (or for me).

Dumbed down game and shitty UI so once more PC players have to suffer because of consoles. You'd think the failure that was DCUO would have warned them why this is a bad idea. Anyway, my interest in the game has now just evaporated.

I have yet to see even a decent console MMOG, let alone an MMORPG. I'm not saying it's impossible, but the nature of the control scheme means that any MMO that is "limited" by being a console release will be less sophisticated than a PC only release. There's just no way around it. An action oriented game might perhaps find a way to be good in both environments, but I'm not holding out hope. I guess I kind of already already suspected that this particular MMO would be on consoles, but disappointing news all the same.

Considering the Elder Scrolls games have been playable on consoles ever since Morrowind...is it really such a stretch to imagine the MMO version being on a console? I've seen gameplay footage from the PC and it still looked good. It's already different than your typical mmo with left mouse controlling your attacks (hold to heavy attack) and right mouse for blocking. There are only I *think* 5 or so hotkey attacks that you can use at any one time (regardless, it's a limited number of powers you can have hotkeyed at one time). They can be swapped out for any other 5 abilities you possess. In single player elder scrolls you essentially had those attacks already on the controller. The only issue with dumbing down you'll run into is if console players need to "speak" with pc players (lacking a keyboard).

Also, there are a lot of reviews out there from people who have played the game. So, to say there has been no gameplay testing by media reviewers is just incorrect.

I'm curious if the PS4 and TVBox players will play in the same world as the PC players? Or will they all be separate?

It'd be cool if it was all one giant player pool.

Molag Bal was telling me all about this at our weekly poker night, over a roast hobbit and a few ales. He's pretty stoked about it.

I may have to give ESO a shot, especially since GW2 is no longer scratching that MMO itch for me. GW2 is great but I basically finished all the content, so now I need something new.

Because of Blue's misleading title. He really needs an editor.

Perhaps he is right, unless you are in closed beta or getting news on closed beta, how are we to know?

Well I was apparently a "high chance" of getting in the closed beta, and am still waiting. Must be pretty small numbers at this point that they've let in.

I can't get excited by themepark PvE-centric MMOs anymore. I can't think of anything that model could deliver that would get me excited, or any IP that would make it more interesting.

The tech exists to make really amazing sandbox MMO with a focus on the players. And it wouldn't have to be as hardcore as EVE Online, or take place in the void of space.

I don't really like to feel like the other players might as well not even be there.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?
