Covered this several times now: It's the same as it is on the PS3 currently.

Jesus, Cutter. I think you need meds. You are the single most negative person I have ever read online, and that's saying something.

Because I'm a realist and pragmatist? Because just about everytime a corporation gets an inch they take a yard? That they value profits over people and will say and do just about anything to walk all over people to get them? Whatever, scooter, you keep walking with the blind but my eyes are wide open. I bet you were shocked, just shocked that your government isn't the nice entity you thought it to be or that a lot of people around the world hate your country because of its policies and actions. Yes, sir, must be nice to live in your little Pollyanna fantasy world.

Uh huh. Yup, that's me, you got me! Oh, wait, no. Apparently you've never read any of my posts. I like your attempt to belittle me, but I don't really take offense when the mentally ill just say whatever pops into their heads.

Some of you people are digging way to deep into this stuff. The PS4 restrictions are exactly the same thing as Ps3. What's so difficult to comprehend about this? What you see is what you get.

I've been around the block. I am not saying you are wrong nor am I saying I haven't missed anything. All said, I'm still wait and see a bit on this one. I see no reason today why I have to lay final judgement on the issue. If it is all what we hope it is, good deal.

Haha, I've seen that video before and it is quite interesting (being from Canada, I already knew how most of it worked).

But that's not quite what I meant. The person mentioned the UK in his post, and on vgchartz the region is Europe. My brain interpreted them to be the same thing, which is not accurate, and I know it's not accurate. It was just how my brain associated the two when I read his post.

Similarly, I believe Canada falls under the banner of the US regarding the video game regions. Which in most cases should be labelled as North America, but usually labelled as US.

I haven't seen Sony contradict itself so far,

Sonys explanation could not be clearer

If a publisher wants to pull a SimCity then customers can choose to ignore that game rather than have DRM implemented for every single game they buy.

It think details on exactly how a publisher can DRM the game hasn't been really shared. It sounds like they can definately put limits into the games if they like.

Didn't MS sort of say the same thing? That it is up to the publishers?

MS implemented features at the behest of the publishers to allow for more restrictive DRM. Restrictions that wouldn't work without hardware and OS level support.
Do you have a single fact to back that up?

I love all the people saying "publishers won't make games for it if it doesn't give them as good DRM."

No. They may favor one with more DRM, but they will make games for whatever the consumers buy. If the PS4 really sells 2:1 then they will concentrate on the PS4.

Not so sure - remember UK isn't a REGION. Can find lots of things saying 360 is strong in the uk but struggling to find actual hard numbers for the PS3.

Sorry, my brain tends to associate UK as the EU as a whole, which is not accurate.

http://www.vgchartz.com/analysis/platform_totals/

As with any unofficial numbers, they have to be taken with a grain of salt, but most other sites report similar numbers.

Again, the only region 360 has outsold the PS3 is the US. Rest of the world, Japan, and Europe (not UK as I interpreted), they have outsold the 360. I assume, the UK falls under the EU banner, which as a whole they have outsold, but yes, specifically in the UK the 360 may be outselling PS3. I haven't seen UK specific numbers.

It's exactly the same system you have today. Do you have a PS3 or Xbox? That's what the PS4 will be in terms of DRM. The Xbox One has additional DRM on top of that, it is implemented in the operating system. The fact that people can't understand the difference between these is baffling. The Xbox One system sucks, at the very minimum it is limiting your bought copy and forcing you to login to Microsoft servers, that's the best case scenario with nothing else thrown in. They need a multipage site to explain their system and they still don't even know all the details yet, it's fucking stupid.

Were some of you looking forward to Killer Instinct?

Microsoft can't even do F2P right, they learned nothing from Age of Empires Online.

And the rest are paid, not unlocked? I could see maybe 3, with the rest unlocking, with at least 7-9 unlocking EXTREMELY quickly, but... 1?
