Ugh. I hate W8 on desktops without touch screens.

I used one with a touchscreen laptop, and even then it was a hair pulling experience...

I had a family member come by the other day, trucker who can just barely get by on Windows in general. Insists his laptop is broken and that there is something wrong with it, it's a brand new Lenovo so I'm a bit skeptical but agreed to look at it for him. His diagnosis is that sometimes the "screen spazzes out and goes all screwy".

The tl;dr is that he was hitting the laptops touchpad in a specific direction which was triggering Metro and pulling him out of the application he was in. When I told him what was wrong he asked how to get rid of Windows 8. I disabled the touch pad but he came back with the same issue later. Finally I disabled Metro for him instead and he seems to be happy now.

Blue Blue Blue Blue Blue Blue Blue.

Here's to hoping that MS get's its head out of its ass and makes a UI compatible with a mouse and keyboard.
