How big is the game install? Also is it CPU/RAM/MOBO hog or more of a graphics card hog?
I have a nice new Ivybridge system with lots of ram etc, but Im worried my 'old' HD6870 might be a bit on the low end for this one...

Been playing it. i72600K, 8GB RAM, GTX580. Runs like butter here on an almost Ultra setting.
Also, I've found myself enjoying this alpha quite a lot. Animations are so much better, the radio banter is infinitely better.
I think third time's the charm for Bohemiah. They've got something special here.
On a related note, the price of ArmaIII will increase as the beta and the final release come out. The alpha is pretty much priced at half the price of the full game when it comes out. I can say that if the prospect of ArmaIII interests you to get it right now. When I got ArmAII at release I didn't find it too fun until a dozen patches later. I'm already finding A3 fun despite being an alpha.
And the graphics, holy fuck these graphics.
No shit. Guess I'll be grabbing it this weekend.

I know, there's all sorts of alpha stuff in the game. windows making a breaking glass sound but don't actually break. I did find one object I could sort of interact with, a bucket. I shot it and it turned over on its side - no physx type interaction just flipped over.
They've really improved the movement, especially when in close quarters. If the AI is up to the task you could make some really cool rainbow six type scenarios.
As much as I loved Rainbow Six (Raven Shield was probably the best one but I enjoyed Rogue Spear a bit more) the AI was never one of its strong points.
Currently I am on the verge of buying Arma 3 (it would be good to support a PC developer but I am really not sure how much fun I am going to have with it). Someone tip me over!

Okay you can now throw grenades with one key - one throw fits all, but you can't cook them
You can't switch fire modes without cycling through weapon attachments.
binding keys seems like a never ending battle with Arma games, they really need to streamline some of this stuff.

What's your video card? I've got some variety of 560 I think (at work right now), and wondered how much it would chug.
Thanks!
It's a Geforce 460 768MB, running on an Intel dual-core i3 4.2Ghz.
WOOT! I'm in! Thank ya!
