Out of the Blue

I think I may be sensitive to chlorine, not that there are many people who are particularly fond of the various effects of bleach. But I did a big bathroom cleaning yesterday, and the fact that my chest still feels tight reminds me that exposure to the nasty stuff always stays with me for a couple of days, which doesn't seem normal. The odd thing is I used to be a lifeguard, and took some pretty rigorous instruction and training in swimming pools, so this odd feeling of not being able to breath properly has the odd side-effect of making me feel that healthy exhilaration of having just worked out (something I need to experience through sensory recall for as often as I get off my ass these days). Oh well, at least the bathroom is sparkling.

Got to treat yourself every now and then.

Or just get yourself a good man and bareback him every day or once a month... year... decade... or whatever is more likely to happen.

As kids we used to mix chlorine and water in tightly sealed plastic bottles and blow shit up. Shake, run, wait 60 seconds for one helluva boom! Once we walked into the resulting chlorine gas cloud to investigate the crater we'd just created and all started suffocating. No wonder they used the shit during World War 1 as a chemical warfare agent. Ah, to be young again! *cough* *wheeze*

Holy... shit. That is incredible. I'm sitting here, reading this article, with my jaw hanging below my desk...

Not a cure. This is not something they can just do to people. They just have one example that it may be possible to protect infants from their mothers' HIV if they're immediately stuck on the usual HIV antiretroviral treatment after birth. No new drugs or treatments involved, aside from having the opportunity to do it so early.

There was also the case, a few years ago, I believe, of someone being cured through a bone marrow transplant(?).

Yeah, it's not a blanket cure for everyone. But we're making progress, and that's whats awesome.

A little chill of Autumn (Fall) in the air.
The begining of the end to a record breaking long hot sunny Summer.
Hot without the terrible heat off the Nor West, but hot with a pleasant wind off the Nor East.
We needed this 2.5 years on from 10,000 earthquakes & aftershocks, nothing of note in the last 6 months
Most of the city has come down now with nothing over 5-7 stories to be built in the future, it will actually be a very beautiful city when completed. The place is starting to fill up with workers from all around the country & overseas as the demolishion finishes & the rebuild begins.
For those interested we recorded the highest ground acceleration ever recorded by an earthquake with an epicentre directly under a built up area 2.2g.
Japans was centred off the coast generating the terrible tsnami.

Um .. Behind you...

So, InXile is going to start up the Torment Sequel Kickstarter in two days.

And I dunno. I think the setting and the game will probably be cool, but I just have a bad taste in my mouth about them starting another Kickstarter while they've shown exactly one video from their first one...

And sure, we can chant endlessly that if the writing and design is done, those writers and designers need to start working on another project and can't just sit around doing nothing.

On the flipside, however, if Wasteland 2 turns out to suck (which is possible, if unlikely), a lot of people are going to be pretty damn angry about having supported another Kickstarter by the same team.

I think Brian's dipping into the well a bit too much here.

Not to mention, yet again, this is going against the spirit of KS. If W2 goes over like gangbusters and they can afford to fund it themselves than they should. So, yeah, even if it is Torment in spirit I'm just not down with them doing this - at least until w see how W2 pans out and how they've made out from it.

The site isn't flagging topics as read for me for a while now. And constantly resets what I have "Read" or clicked on. That is pretty weird... I think I am gonna wipe the history in Chrome and see what happens...

Nope, that didn't fix it.

Funnily, browsing elsewhere and coming back after a few minutes it remembers. Strange.

Flash player froze and starting eating resources like mad when I came to the site this AM. Not sure if it was isolated, just wanted to share. Did the 3 finger salute to see the problem, killed the process and the site acted a little weird. Started boxing headlines with blue lines and boxes. Hopefully just me.
