Out of the Blue

Still processing the news of the closure of the UGO, GameSpy, and 1UP websites. As I commented to loonyboi about this, all those properties ending up in the same hands seemed to make some change in this regard inevitable, so it's not like this was completely unexpected, but having all three sites go in the same firing squad is still a little shocking. Best of luck to all of those looking for work as a result of this.

I'm not sure why you are worried. Look how well shoehorning characters from the original trilogy worked in the prequels.

Can't be worse than the prequels. Focusing on the kids while small parts for the parents? Fine with me, as long as it's more than a 2 second cameo (IE if the character is there, it needs to be more than window dressing or fan service).

As a fairly disappointed SW fan, pretty much every decision since selling the company sounds like an improvement. So much so that I'm finding it hard to keep my expectations in check.

And let's undo this whole "Chewbacca died" horseshit, please!

A damn shame B5 might never make it to Blu-Ray.
I loved B5, but the "special effects" would look even worse on Blu-ray.

Ha! I just mailed my last car payment about two weeks ago. Did the furnace replacement thing 17 months ago. So, I'm with ya'.

Today is the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Babylon 5.

Yep! Happy Bday, B5! And RIP Commander Jeffrey Sinclair, Citizen G-Kar, Doctor Stephen Franklin, Security Chief Zack Allen, and Zathras.

I mean, Mark Hamill now looks like he walked straight off the set of the Walking Dead!

Do we really need a movie about them still? Especially if that is going to clash with the Expanded Universe?

Edit : Love this quote

"When I found out [while making the original trilogy] that ultimate good news/bad news joke – the good news is there's a real attractive, hot girl in the universe; the bad news is she's your sister – I thought, 'Well, I'm going to wind up like Sir Alec [Guinness]. I'm going to be a lonely old hermit living out in some kind of desert igloo with a couple of robots.'"

Blue,

I don't really care one way or the other, but you have a ton of Lifelock ads running. Not sure if you have a policy about ads from companies that have been found to be nothing but a scam.

Meteor's Sonic Boom Breaks Windows During Karate Class.

I love how the kids all run, and the 2 what I can only assume as teachers just stand there. hahahahah

Those images from the tunnel under NY are creepy. From the artcile:
A project so big that it prompted—unfounded—fears of a major collapse of some old city buildings, like St. Patrick's Cathedral.

heh...only time will tell!

I know some people were worried about the Gamespy backend server stuff since it supports a number of PC and console games, it turns it was sold to a different company last year. So this closure was just the website.

Thanks for sticking around Blue, I'm sure it isn't always easy This site is my reliable go-to for a variety of news, can't imagine logging on one day and it being gone.
