More recently, I remember the E3 shit for Kinect, god damn that was hilarious. The faked lightsaber demo was comedy gold.
Also Sony had some absolutely hilarious pre-launch claims. The PS3 was going to be a mesh networking device where idle power of online systems would be harnessed for active devices graphics processing. That was some amusing wankery.
That whole IllumiRoom is almost definitely another example of this type of thing.
