Not that I'm a graphics whore, but DX11 has been out too long to ignore it... which makes this most likely a crappy console port, hence bargain bin only. Totally agree! |

software installations required (included with the game) include Steam Client, DirectX 9, Microsoft .NET 4 Framework, Visual C++ Redistributable 2005, Visual C++ Redistributable 2008, Visual C++ Redistributable 2010, and AMD CPU Drivers (XP Only/AMD Only). Damn, way to figure out which C++ redib to use, Gearbox. :O
That last one is pretty interesting. I read that as if you are using XP and an AMD processor, it installs mobo drivers? That seems a rather unusual step to take for a dev...

Even AVP 2010 had DX 11 visuals. Well, SOME tesselation at any rate. It`d be hard to believe that A CMs would arrive with just dx 9 visual effects fare. I agree tho. We don`t buy dx 11 GTX 680s to run old tech real fast.

I wouldn't know about BL2... I've stated before I don't do cel shaded outlined games. I can't stand that art style. Yes, I'm picky. I mean... I know what I like, and I'm only willing to purchase what I like.
I'm saying if a modern game doesn't have DX11 support... that PRETTY MUCH means they put NO EFFORT in the PC version. That doesn't mean that there aren't exceptions... but it is more of general indicator to go by. |

IF they are limiting it to DX 9.0c (and I said IF (which is the way I'm reading the announcement)), that pretty much SCREAMS that it is a console port, in this day and age.
As for any graphic enhancements... DX 9 is fine, like I said... I'm not a graphics whore (even though Tavil disagrees), although I do like tessellation usage on modern DX 11 games... but it's not necessary. Was Borderlands 2 a crappy port? Because that was DX9 only. Heck, we're still at a point where most games are. You miss a ton of great games if you refuse to play something that isn't DX11.
And, again, this does not say that Aliens doesn't support DX11. Gearbox said all last year that this would support DX11. Wouldn't be surprised to see that dropped with the date slip, but this is hardly confirmation. |

Apparently I no speeking gud eengrish, since people are confusing my comment as graphics detail, when I'm talking PC specific tech (at this time), which means they put an effort into the PC version.

How very ignorant of you and you do sound like a "graphics whore" with comments like those. I for one think this game is going to be amazing. and am glad for the modest spec requirements. Means ill be able to play it on my laptop which is rare these days. Graphics only matter so much, its all about game play. |
