And no, its generally NOT worth getting an entirely new PSU just for efficiency's sake. Odds are its only going to be 10% or so more efficient than your existing PSU, and if you are only sucking down 100 watts or so, then it would take a long time to make up that difference. Unless you run the computer 24/7. |

That is the problem we've had forever though. The wealthy accumulate wealth and do everything they can to avoid paying. Google was just in the news for using tax havens to avoid paying taxes. They were even proud of it. That's the crap that needs to get sorted out That's the real discussion to have. Yup. |

I remember the "Robots will kill everyone's jobs" in the 80's.
Obviously these posting kids like Cutter wouldn't remember, they only remember what CNNMSNBC tells them so they can throw their 'socialist' talking points in every thread. |

And even if everyone was capable of post-secondary education - which most are not - what exactly would they be doing that would be viable and not automated? Who's going to pay for said education as well as the food, clothing and housing required while people retrain? Without a massive shift towards a more socialist society it'll result in all out revolution and warfare. Calm down.. It won't put billions of people out of work forever. They'll get new jobs as long as their inalienable rights are preserved. No, education doesn't necessarily solve the problem either. Frequently people over-educate and end up in debt to banks for far longer than needed. Human rights and liberties are the essentials we need to worry about.

I assume if robots do everything, then we just give people credits for food, shelter, entertainment and travel. We only have to work today because the fruits of our labors are essential, if robots did that, then it's perma vacation, woohoo! Humans Win! BUT... there are so many other paths to take that aren't as rosy and some control freak will make this a very bad thing most likely. |
