Medieval CryENGINE 3 Footage

This trailer uncovered by Eurogamer.cz shows gameplay from an RPG in a medieval setting in the works at Warhorse Games, the developer recently formed by veterans of 2K Czech and Bohemia Interactive (thanks Eurogamer.net). The clip was shot off a monitor, and shows off what they are doing with the CryENGINE 3 to create realistic outdoor environments for the unannounced game, which is currently expected in 2014/2015.

Is this going to be a first person perspective game, similar to The Elder Scrolls or recent Fallout games? If so, I'm hyped

Maybe next year.

Another Hidden and Dangerous would be the shit. H&D 2 was fucking awesome! I loved that game.

I was hoping 2K Czech would be working on that next after Mafia 2 (using an upgraded version of the Mafia 2 engine).

Warhorse studios has some pretty promising talent under the bonnet.

This could be good

Looks Gothic-esque to me. One can hope anyway.

Think that Piranha Bytes will make Gothic V now that they've got the Risen series?

I agree that it will be years before this comes out if they're trying to do it in Cryengine3. Or, it will be very short.

@Dangerdog. That cracked me up.

Impressive landscape artistry that reminds me that fine art and computer science do co-exist and even thrive in this pop-art weighted modern world. Such is the nature of human talent!

I thought it looked like a setting that could be used for a WWII game too, the roads looked like they had seen heavy vehicle action - not a hoof print anywhere.

They've set themselves up for a monumental task of populating the world with equally detailed, photo-realistic assets - not to mention the animation to go along with it. Unless the whole game takes place in the village shown, eat from the garden, take water from the well and then poop in the river - how long can you survive?

Haha! I wonder if Crytek owns the rights to the word "Cry" in a video game title yet.
