Multiplayer would have been a waste of resources, as it wouldn't stand a chance against dedicated multiplayer games. Let's just hope they get the singleplayer right, as this game is starting to become a bit of a development disaster with all the delays and staff quitting.
Based on what I've seen so far it looks like it will be enjoyable but only worth picking up when it goes on sale - the gameplay looks very dated, especially after games like Dishonored, Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3. It's on my "maybe, if it gets good reviews" list.
