Greenmangaming seems like it is starting to beat Steam at its own game. All of the latest full-priced blockbusters that I have bought in the last few weeks have been through Gmg. It sure is an awesome time to be a gamer (as long as you like digital downloads).

I still worry I'm going to log in one day and find some games missing. Their deals seem almost too good to be true.

Oh God - perish the thought! That woud SUCK. Of course I'd just re-purchase all of the games on the next Steam sale.

edit:
Dammit so much for a non-kill playthrough. Hadn't saved in a while and was forced to kill some bad guys. Would have been too much work to go back. I pity those poor whales. *sniff*

Keep at it. I actually just got an achievement for under 10 kills in X number of missions. So while there is an achievement for killing no one, you also get credit for attempting it.

Also, this article specifically spells out whats a kill, and what isn't.

Hi all, we've temporarily run out of Dishonored keys due to immense popularity of our deal. We're working to get more but no ETA. -Love GMG

I'm hoping these sales might help towards a sequel. And good for GMG getting the traffic.

GMG must be making a fortune off of Steam. All they do is pump out keys while Steam has all the downloading.
BUT they also have near continual massive sales which cuts deeply into their profit. They must be making some money, but I doubt its terribly much. Selling $50-$60 presales games at $35 or so, they can't be making much.
They'd probably be better off running those 20%-30% coupons once a month instead of almost every day.

I imagine that they rely on bulk sales to make up for the losses. If they weren't making a decent profit, I seriously doubt they'd offer such significant discounts on a regular basis.

Hey Prez! Are we doing Play it Forward again this year? I've got a friend who's for DX:HR on his list ($5 today) and might invite him.

I was planning on something like it, though it was actually Krovven's idea but he kind of hates me now.

I only played to getting out of prison last night but so far I like the flavour. I really enjoy the art style and environments in particular. It's an interesting world visually speaking.

It only gets better as you go further. I just finished a wonderful kidnapping mission. The art is courtesy of the same guy who did a lot of the art design for HL2 (Viktor Antonov), and you can see a lot of similarities in the look of Dishonored and City 17 (in an awesome way).

Interesting, something I'd not noticed, via wikipedia:
Several actors provide voice work for the game, including Susan Sarandon, Brad Dourif, Carrie Fisher, Billy Lush, Lena Headey and Chloë Grace Moretz.

Prez you have some pull with Valve (Customer of the Decade right?), STOP THE INSANITY!

Indeed, as Gabe Newell's duly appointed assistant pedicurist ("Customer of the Decade" rewards aren't all they are cracked up to be, let me tell you!) I occassionally am asked for my opinion. Unfortunately I freeze up and always say "Ummm... uhh...More sales. Yeah. That's the ticket!" So yes, I am to blame. Sorry.

And thanks for the mention on Krater there Cutter. I have been on the fence about that one for a while but I am going to pick it up. The official reviews range from mixed to negative yet the user reviews are consistently much higher from what I have seen.

Waiting on Cutter's opinion!

I only played to getting out of prison last night but so far I like the flavour. I really enjoy the art style and environments in particular. It's an interesting world visually speaking. The options of paths and playstyle is good as well. So far I'm trying the sneaky/hacky style we used in DX. It's a shame that it was obviously developed for the 360 because it could have looked so much better developed solely for the PC. So far it does have the Thief/DX/Bioshock feel to it. I'm still concerned how all his powers and gizmos may make things too easy but so far it's easily worth the $20 I paid for it. Going to dive back and spend several hours on it today.

Also, I finished up Sabotage yesterday - thanks for the free game EA! Haha! And I thoroughly enjoyed it. So if you see it for $5 over the holidays make sure to snag it. I'm also enjoying Krater a good deal as well. Totally worth it for $5 and then some.

Between steam and amazon, Sat seems to be a slower day. Which is good, as my wallet can't take much more abuse.

Hoping for a quiet cyber Monday...

Excellent find! NOW THE REST OF YOU GO BUY IT!

Waiting on Cutter's opinion! :)

I was considering getting it, but I think I'll wait to see what the winter sale has in store. If I bought it now it would be a month or more before I even got to it.

Alternatively one could try Gamefly or Impulse; they had Dishonored for $30 as well last I checked. It's a Steamworks game anyway so it doesn't really matter where you get it from. Unless of course you are just loath to give money to Gamestop, which is understandable.

The evolution of buying games for myself:

-Not so long ago... Not enough good games to buy.
-Then, good selection of games to buy, but not enough money at $50.
-Now I can afford the games at the price they are asking, but I do not have the time and know it.

Supply and demand, now there is simply too much supply, so it's not shocking many companies are struggling to stay afloat. It's not even because they aren't good at it, we only have so much time.
