I'm in Harlem, NYC and am a bit nervous about the storm. Not for myself, but for the city. I think there might be a lot of flooding downtown and in Brooklyn.
My lab is on the 14th floor, uptown, and my apartment on the 6th floor, so we'll be dry, but the power could easily go out.
Stay safe everyone. |

Goddamit I hate when I pick teams that don't do what they're supposed to do. First time I do the right thing and pick the Vikes - painful as that was - they get blown out. And even though I like the Lions there was no way they were supposed to beat the Seahawks. Chargers lose to the Browns? Really? Jets get smoked by the Dolphins? Come on! |

Verlander. Mr. Triple Crown. Sweeping the Yankees. Getting swept in the world series. Hey at least we get a free taco. Not to deny anything to the Tigers, but the Yankees kinda killed themselves once Jeter went down (and even before that already). A high school team could have beaten that sorry bunch of dipshits in the ALCS.
It amazed me the Tigers made it to the world series, because they never actually played well in the entire postseason.
With that pitching staff, though, the Giants are going to be hard to beat for years. They did this without Lincecum even being at his best.

If that storm came in on Galveston, I'd be up around Huntsville. That is an enormous amount of water being pushed into the coast. It looks like a bigger version of Hurricane Ike. |

Btw, guys, the final Halloween event in GW2 is pretty cool. I don't know if it's still running, but if it is, make your way to the big fountain in Lion's Arch.
It takes about 15-20 mins, and is very fun.

First. HTF does anyone sit in line for a month? They have zero other responsibilities or obligations? No need to work or make money? Second. That's just beyond sad. Sitting around in a line for a month for a toy? Beyond...sad. No kidding. Same for movies and other stuff. |

GL, Blue, and everyone else in that area. We had a bit of a scare out here as well. That 7.7 earthquake in BC sent a tsunami our way last night. Evacs went well, and as far as I know no injuries or deaths. But the sirens wailed all night. |

Yeh, my dogs have done that with the stairs and a tennis ball. Well, not so much now anymore.
The funniest / most annoying thing is though, they like to make US play fetch.
Our driveway (at my parents' place) is a steep hill. Not too long, maybe 30-50 feet, but fairly steep.
Anyway, when he wants to play and sees we're not in the mood, he'll bring a soccer ball to the driveway where it starts to slope down, lets the ball go, and barks. Obviously we run to go get it, else it winds up in the street or perhaps into a car or whatever.
Dang tricky dogs. We bring it back, he does it again :-)
