Ships Ahoy - Chivalry: Medieval Warfare

Steam News announces that Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is now available, while the game's official website lists all the places the medieval combat game is being sold. Here's a trailer, and here's word:
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a first-person slasher with a focus on multi-player. Featuring competitive online combat that seeks to capture the experience of truly being on a medieval battlefield. Inspired from the intensity and epicness of swordfighting movies such as 300, Gladiator and Braveheart, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare aims to bring that experience to the hands of a gamer.

The game is skill-based and controls like a FPS, but instead of guns and grenades, players are given swords, shields, maces, battleaxes and longbows. Set in a fictional, yet gritty and realistic world, players will fight in fast paced online battles besieging castles, raiding medieval villages and fighting for glory in the arena with up to 32 players.

Game looks pretty cool but charging $25 for a multiplayer-only game these days seems kinda crazy, especially with all the F2P competition. I hope the price barrier doesn't hurt the community's initial growth.

There's a Steam server browser issue currently affecting anyone who isn't on the beta Steam client, or hasn't played a game that's caused Steam to download a certain master server list file. Until Valve updates Steam to solve it, the fix is to either opt into the Steam beta, or download the file here or here and drop it in Program Files\Steam\Config.

That aside, launch seems to be going pretty well

Get this game. This is everything WotR could and should have been. This game is fun as hell and truly lives to its name.

I've been planning on getting this. It looks really cool. It's in my steam cart right now. Guess I'll go hit checkout.
