A common problem is some people can't suspend their disbelief for a sci-fi film. That said, in sci-fi or anything else, stupid is stupid and it is inexcusable. Horror films seem particularly susceptible.

I wish I could have had that reaction, the stuff happening on screen was just frustrating from about the 35 minute point onward right up to the end for me. My girlfriend went on a real "this is why I dont like scifi..." style rant at the end too and for once I couldn't blame her.
Alien wasn't perfect and in many ways it was a product of its time but its incredible that nothing really comes close after 30 years of cinema. |

Edit: This prompted me to go look at the first topic I posted in, back in 2004 (after lurking on the site for years). Interesting to see some of the same names still being prominent in the discussions. We've lost some cool people too, though. I've always missed Zathrus.
And who doesn't want POOHEAD back?
Creston Lots of good peeps are gone, Sixis, Bronco, Warhawk, etc.
I actually found a sixis in some other game awhile back (can't remember which it was - might have been TOR), but when I asked if the person was from Blue's, they said no...

Congrats on 16+ Blue.
9.5 since my reg date and probably 11 since I started reading. I was 16 when I started posting here (and that picture was taken when I was 18 )
We need a "reliable source" to write a damn retrospective on the site so you can get a Wikipedia page again. "Not notable" ... PSH! Unfortunately, I don't think the appropriate industry to do so, the gaming media, is in the habit of extolling their competitors. |

Thanks for the site Blue, I have been a regular reader since some time before you moved to this domain. I think I remember reading Quake development news, where John Carmack was describing how they were building c.a. 200 polygon character models. Since Quake launched in June 1996 then it must have been long before that. |

OK, you just made me laugh about the woman! BAD!
My first thought on reading that article is why it didn't burn her esophagus on the way down...
edit: Think I started reading sometime in 97...I remember Q2 test Quake 2 "demo" (according to the October 8th post) was released, and reading about it here (and it was a BIG FUCKING DEAL )
