War of the Roses and A Game of Dwarves Next Month

Paradox Interactive sends along a release schedule, confirming a September 26th release for Hearts of Iron III: Their Finest Hour, and saying both War of the Roses and A Game of Dwarves are expected next month. Here's word:

War of the Roses
An ambitious and gritty 3rd person multiplayer action game, War of the Roses seeks to put large teams of players into the muddied mail boots of medieval soldiers, allowing them to unlock a wealth of persistent elements as a 1,500lb mounted knight, nimble archer, cunning footmen or anything in between.

Release date: October 2nd, 2012

A Game of Dwarves
Can you dig it? A classic management game with a fantasy twist, A Game of Dwarves gives gamers the tricky task of overseeing and expanding an underground colony of industrious, treasure-hoarding dwarves deep down underground. With all sorts of ancient caverns and forgotten creatures beneath your feet, only one question remains: Will you delve too greedily, and too deep?

Release date: October 23rd, 2012

And after 30 seconds in 1st person sword fighting you would never go back to it...

Matter of opinion (and skill), I guess. I've played Mount & Blade: Warband for two years now and play it exclusively from 1st person (I prefer the realism)--and am generally near or at the top of the leaderboards in most servers I play on (same with its expansion Napoleonic Wars). I committed to that view from the beginning and it's just second-nature to me now and I'm quite good with it. It's also how I play DayZ, too (even though many prefer 3rd person for that game as well), and I do just fine there.

Like I said, personal opinion, but I laugh at people who say you can't be good unless you switch to 3rd person. Yes you can. I've actually been called out to prove it to people on dueling servers (Warband) who swore they could best me if I played in 1st person, and have made believers of quite a few really good players now. Point is, you can totally play just as well from that view if you just commit to it and practice a lot. True story.
