There's
a new update on the Kickstarter Blog titled "Kickstarter Is Not a Store," which follows that hopefully obvious point by outlining some policy changes intended to make this distinction more apparent when viewing listings on the fundraising site (thanks nin). This includes the requirement that projects list "risks and challenges" they face and that hardware projects cease using simulations and renderings. Of these changes, they say: "We hope these updates reinforce that Kickstarter isn't a traditional retail experience and underline the uniqueness of Kickstarter."
