Kickstarter Policy Changes

There's a new update on the Kickstarter Blog titled "Kickstarter Is Not a Store," which follows that hopefully obvious point by outlining some policy changes intended to make this distinction more apparent when viewing listings on the fundraising site (thanks nin). This includes the requirement that projects list "risks and challenges" they face and that hardware projects cease using simulations and renderings. Of these changes, they say: "We hope these updates reinforce that Kickstarter isn't a traditional retail experience and underline the uniqueness of Kickstarter."

So if they ever applied this to game Kickstarters (which they don't), the 'risks and challenges' section is supposed to be the equivalent of Gamasutra's Postmortems of games (What went Right/What went Wrong). If we're being accurate anyway. Now Kickstarter game designers will need a psychic on their team to provide the clairvoyance necessary!

Edit: Clarification
