Resident Evil 6 for PC Status

A post to an Ask Capcom Thread from Capcom's Christian Svensson explains that there will probably be a considerable delay before a PC edition of Resident Evil 6 is released to prevent another Resident Evil 4 debacle (thanks Strategy Informer). Here's word:
It is a small, but appropriately sized team working on the RE6 PC project. It is a different group than originally planned, lest it would have taken even longer than it currently will but this team will do a better job than what was being considered originally.

The process did not begin until after the console versions were complete, submitted, approved by console 1st parties to use that final codebase as the starting point.

It will be some time still before we provide details on release dates and PC specific parameters.

Projects like this you guys seem to think are "trivial" but they are not. When they get treated as trivial, you end up with Resident Evil 4 PC... which I don't think too many true fans were pleased with.

Well now that comment about piracy REALLY sums things up.

I never knew there was a strategy behind it: I thought it was pure revenge. I guess it's the same thing behind the lack of PC demos, though I find it strange that they would think a person who would buy the game without a demo will all of a sudden be pirating it due to playing a demo version.

They clearly think that if piracy isn't an issue, demos do nothing but help.

Anyway, I too am disappointed about the delay, but there's nothing we can do.

Resident Evil 4 LITERALLY WAS AN ABORTION. It was so unplayable that it BLOWS MY MIND that it even GOT OUT THE DOOR! HOW WAS IT POSSIBLE?!?!?!? (You could not aim the crosshair at all. There was a patch made by some random guy, but it still was "epic fail".)

RE5, on the other DIMENSION, was P E R F E C T. It was BEAUTIFUL. It felt like it was MADE for the PC.

I also like their engine tech. It's so unlike your typical Japanese developer < >.
