We're freaking out over here! It is so exciting to share this news with you!
- You can now Download the Black Mesa Soundtrack, courtesy of our very own Joel Nielsen, at the very generous price of whatever you want! Enjoy and share!
- In the near future you'll see our Website, Wiki and Forums all taken down temporarily for renovations.
- On September 14th you will see the first release of Black Mesa! This will include our re-envisioning of Half-Life all the way up to Lambda Core. We believe this is a great way to provide a complete-feeling 8-10 hour experience with a solid ending, make our fans happy and help us make the best overall game possible.
We are still working hard on Xen and BMDM, but instead of making you wait we are giving you Black Mesa as soon as it's ready! We're doing our best to help bring the immense vision of this project into reality, and we are very excited for what the future brings!

So people whine about not getting a free project "on time", so they give people something play and get crap for "rushing" things.
You can't win with this mentality. It's a free mod made by people in their spare time. If you feel butt-hurt over it, don't play it! They owe you nothing.
If you actually took the time to read you'd notice most people stopped caring how long it took for them to complete the mod and only want something that is finished after eight years of work. Episodic releases are only pandering to the impatient. It shows a loss of interest to get things done. Unless it's brilliant and receives glowingly positive feedback, this will be a morality killer for the team. And then it will never be finished.
What do you think he's apologizing for?
You've literally lost nothing with this game, and all the people that made it are asking for is your time, which they're pretty open about it not being complete so that you can judge whether it gets your time accordingly.
Unless you preordered this for $60 on what are now broken promises... shut up about "apologists." It's a term that, especially when being used for a free mod, makes any user sound like an idiot.
