I enjoyed the beta but the game's PC launch was a disaster. The GFWL matchmaking was crap, you couldn't join matches-in-progress and the game was poorly optimized. The community died pretty quickly. Going F2P, removing GFWL and letting you join matches-in-progress will hopefully revive the game, as I do think the core gameplay is enjoyable. There's a wide variety of weapons and loadout customization and a lot of interesting traversal mechanics.
That said, F2P games need lots of post-release support to survive and I don't really see WB doing that. I see them switching to F2P as a desperate attempt to milk more money from the microtransactions (like APB Reloaded did) rather than overhaul the game in an attempt to revive it. |

Does suck that they're not even throwing previous owners a bone with freebies or something. Of course APB Reloaded did this too. All of us who had clothes, cars, guns, and lots of gametime were told to STFU and pay2win. Glad this, at least, doesn't have gun rental/buying on the cash shop. They actually are throwing purchasers freebies, a crapton of the DLC is unlocked. |

All multilayer games with waning server populations should do this, particularly so those who did buy the games can continue getting their money's worth. |

There was a lot of potential but only like seven people playing at once. I might go back to it now that it's F2P
And like earlier in the thread, I got the game as part of a batman bundle on Steam, so I don't mind if it is F2P now. |

I own the paid version but I don't feel burned because I bought it for like $5 on a sale. It's also very nice to see them ditch the GFWL plague that the original one had. The gameplay was absolutely fantastic and I really enjoyed it's kooky aesthetic but very few played it on PC. The model really lends itself to free-to-play so hopefully this gets people back into it. |

Makes you feel bad for the people who actually purchased this game. At least it wasn't 60 bucks like SWTOR. |
