Windows 8 simply does not belong on a PC.. and that's all there is to it.

Windows 8 is bad for different reasons than say Vista. The performance is not really the problem, in fact it's very light weight and robust overall. As many articles have mentioned Metro is really the problem with Windows 8, it's a usability nightmare. You can't just ignore it and spend your whole day in the Desktop "app" either, a lot of common actions will end up taking you into the Metro shell just enough to be annoying and disrupt your workflow.

The tutorial stuff for Windows 8 doesn't go far enough, it's a one minute long video that doesn't even expose basic features likes the charms bar which is going to infuriate many casual users. Not being able to resize apps in the Metro interface is another "WTF" moment. Desktop applications running might as well be invisible to Metro which is going to cause even more confusion. As a tablet interface it is fine, I wouldn't say its necessarily great like iOS or Android but its certainly a worthy first effort. The problem is the forced adoption model that Microsoft loves to shovel down our throats - this is all about pushing the Store and its app model on people.

Windows is all about options and configuration. Metro is a literal step backward in time. Tiles, little management, tons of empty space in the UI, a focus on application suspension instead of true multi-tasking, what does that sound like? Oh right Windows 1.0.
