It is a little late to start worrying about data mining. Every time you use a website they track what you do on the site, track what ads load/viewed, and what you end up buying. Where else do you think they get the data for the targeted ads.
With the facebook/social media craze the ship has long since sailed about being worried about personal information now. Too many people give out too much information that companies will use to target you.
As far as the study goes how was it blinded? What did the researchers know going in? It seemed from the story that they already knew significant pieces of information. |
