INVERSION on Steam

NAMCO BANDAI announces a Windows PC edition of INVERSION is now available via Steam. Here's the deal:
Today NAMCO BANDAI Games America has released the gravity-flipping shooter, INVERSION to the PC on Steam. Also available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, INVERSION puts players in the shoes of Davis Russel, a young police officer, father and husband who is caught in the middle of an invasion by an unknown enemy with advanced gravity-altering technology. Players will take hold of this technology and take command of gravity to save the world. The game is rated M for Mature by the ESRB.

As Davis Russel, players are thrust into a vicious war when society is overrun by an unknown enemy utilizing advanced weaponry that manipulates gravity to create bursts of low-gravity to levitate objects, or high-gravity to push objects and enemies to the ground. With his daughter missing, Davis must work together with his partner Leo Delgado to take command of this advanced gravitational weaponry to save the world. In addition to the complete single-player campaign, INVERSION features a comprehensive set of multiplayer modes, including gravity-defying maps and modes for up to 12 players online, as well as a full 2-player online cooperative mode.

After watching some of the gameplay videos, it just looks terrible. I don't mind a typical shooter + gimmick type of game. I had a lot of fun with BulletStorm. But this just doesn't even look fun at all. The shooting aspects are pretty bland, the gravity gimmick looks annoying rather than fun, and the graphics are pretty much par for the console course, which is to say they suck. It really has nothing going for it. I bet it's going for $5 in the Steam Xmas sale.

It is reviewed on Zero Punctuation - I don't know if that's helpful but it was all the information I needed.

It's not often that a game is so bad that I stop watching the ZP review, but in this case, it happened. Didn't sound like there was anything redeeming about it...

I found the controls were awkward and unresponsive. The 3rd person view was awkward as well.

Thanks for an other console port Namco. Gee willackers. Sorry, when your willing to actually support a platform and not try to milk it for extra cash I might take a look at your feeble attempt of a game. Until then... No Spankyou

Oh HELL YEAH it did. In fact I'm thinking of putting myself into forced hybernation for the Xmas sale.

I was about the opposite this time around. Guess I was waiting on a handful of sales that never did materialize.

It looks cool, if a bit dated in the visuals department. Not a deal-breaker though. I'll wait until someone braver than I takes a chance on it and gives me a review.

Namco pretty much buried this release on console last month with almost no promotion or advertising; I can't imagine that this release is much more impressive.

I dunno, it looks pretty cool, if a bit consoly. I guess it depends if it plays well or not. I would hate to play something like this with a controller, for example. And what's wrong with the title? I like it.

If your title sucks, then no one cares; and your title does suck, so, good luck with that.

Don't recall ever having heard about this, but saw it on steam, and the video looked alright.. Not enough to do more research though : )

No demo listed either, so maybe never...
