The eagerly anticipated Steam Summer Sale is now underway, and will run through July 22nd, with new deals to be added every day. The website seems to be struggling at this moment to meet demand, so a little refreshing may be required. Word is: "The annual Steam Summer Sale is on now. Gamers will find amazing deals on thousands of games. The Summer Sale will again feature more than straight discounts, offering Daily Deals, Flash Sales, and 'Customer Choice' Sales, the latter allowing gamers to vote for a title on a given list to be put on sale for a limited time." They list a; the Summer Sale 2012 Publisher Packs, there is a list of top sellers on sale down at the bottom of the page, along with a selection of flash sales that only last a few hours each, like Deus Ex: Human Revolution for 75% off for the next five hours. Here are today's specials:

- Indie Bundle I. Save 75%.
- Legend of Grimrock. Save 60%.

My prediction: At some point Borderlands will be 75% off. ($5)
Remember, do not buy any game that isn't in a daily deal, flash deal or daily deal, always wait until the last day to buy games otherwise you might buy them more expensive if you don't wait for a deal for that game to show up.

And, as happens EVERY SINGLE BIG SALE AND RELEASE, valve still hasn't upgraded their load balancing servers enough to handle the load.
This can be verified by checking the content server status, NONE of them are maxed out, so they have the bandwidth, they just can't use it.

As a general rule, if I'm even interested and it's under $5 I buy it. Anything over $5 has to be something I want--for instance, Rayman Origins is $15 right now. I'm interested, but not enough to bite at that price.
For games I own, I do the obligatory DLC check and pick up the extra content.
Then I wonder if games can go lower. Hard Reset, which is high on my list, is 75% off right now. It's $3.75. Is it really going to get an even greater discount? I'll wait, but damn, even at that price nobody should pass on it.
