Developed by Terminal Reality, The Walking Dead will revolve around Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle on a “haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta.” Players will control Daryl as they attempt to avoid detection from zombies that hunt using sight, sound and smell and will choose between fighting them or using stealth to avoid detection. According to Activision, “No place is truly safe for Daryl as he makes his way through the Georgia countryside in this new, post-apocalyptic world.”
Supplies will be scarce and players will need to carefully manage food, ammunition and supplies as they make their way through the game. Daryl will encounter “a slew of other characters” along the way that can help or hurt him. Whether or not these characters accompany Daryl is completely up to the player and “represents just some of the major decisions that will constantly be made while fighting to survive.”

How many levels will we have to spend looking for Carl because his dumbass mother can't keep track of him even though that is her only job?

Yeah all that talking must be a killer.
More zombies, all the time. The plot should be like "How the fuck are we going to kill all these zombies... That wasn't rhetorical, we're going to kill all of them." Then they should like pull out chainsaws or one of those giant threshers and just run em all over.

Err. That title is already out, and that's from Telltale.
Not the same, Telltale is a cartooninsh, episodic, point and click--miles away from a good FPS game.
(Interactivity does take a purposeful backseat to storytelling. TWD operates more as an interactive TV episode than a conventional adventure game. You never run from zombies in real-time. Puzzle solutions are transparent. Interstitial scenes take control away from you entirely.)
TR's version looks like it will be better in everyway by a longshot

Ah Walking Dead, the zombie survival themed soap-opera that somehow hardly ever has any zombies and features a bunch of poor actors talking about their feelings. I just cant get enough of it!
/sarscam
Hardly has any zombies eh?

How about some game footage; I just hope it isn't the goofy cartoon graphics ala the current Walking Dead game, or TF2, etc. I just can't take those games serious. If I want a cartoon, I'll watch Wall-E.
I don't have high hopes, but time will tell...

Playing with a large group is pretty much the only way to really enjoy this right now. I watched a live stream of about a dozen people playing it earlier today. They came across a few people camped in the woods. They killed a couple of them and the others disconnected. They had a shit ton of tents set up with all kinds of good gear in them. They stayed a little too long picking through the loot though because the ones that disconnected must have called their friends and they all got on at the same time and a big ass firefight broke out. Everyone got scattered and disoriented and they were trying to figure out who was friend and foe. In the end, all but two or three got killed, and one of the survivors had good gear (sniper rifle & cammo) was on a hill in the woods picking off people in the other group.

DayZ is kind of a bullshit game which gives you absolutely no control over your orientation unless you're familiar with the map and love to alt+tab to the online variants. Not to mention the ARMA II engine just blows my mind by how bad it runs/looks and the zombies remind me of Wheelers from Return to Oz but on crack.
Just threw two+ hours down the drain because me and my friend got separated while I was at <1000 blood so most of that time I was passing out and going through the excruciating pulsating screen that made me want to jam forks in to my eyes and because of this, everything about 50 feet from me was blurred. I couldn't tell the orientation of the church to use as a land mark and eventually a zombie went from 0 - 80 in .2 seconds, I pass out, and it kills me.
Without knowing even whether you're facing North, East, South, or West when you get turned around and with multiple paths to take, it's just ridiculous if you get separated for whatever reason (he went ahead to get food for me to get back some blood). I didn't even have the Sun to use as a guide because it was cloudy and we spent about 30 minutes playing guessing game until my death.
So now, it pretty much boils down to killing myself until I get the nearest spawn point which is still far away, solo-running for a couple hours, re-gear, and hope I can find an in-game map or compass to actually give me a general idea of what fucking direction I am facing so I don't have to waste more time with this shit.
I just hope this isn't one of those projects which stays in Alpha for what feels like forever because it really needs some big problems to be addressed or it'll simply lose its edge to another mod or even a full-fledged title.

It sounds like your land navigation skills are pure shit. With a glance at the map and a bit or orienteering I can navigate fine.

Lots of games vying for the DayZ pie it seems.
