Just put the effort into a co-op version of TES for groups of up to 6 people and that's all anyone could ask for.

I could go for that, instanced Skyrim for up to 6 players co-op plus a central hub would be totally fine. Assuming no cliff racers.

Did you guys know that the mod community is actually working on multiplayer Skyrim? Check out Skyrim Nexus. I forgot the name of the mod.

I think it's Skyrim Online. I believe they have it in a reasonable playable state already, they are just having huge issues with getting one player's inventory to show up to other people (ie, what you're wearing etc.)

I Love the elder scrolls games. But I'm not at all interested in a mmo. Its a generic fantasy setting thats only interesting with single player style story telling.

IIRC it is very much still a proof of concept. That said it would be awesome if it is every made fully functional. I am not holding my breath though.

Nobody wants this! The description is Warcraft with Elder Scrolls lore crammed in the side holes.

All we wanted was 4 player co-op skyrim. And it isn't because of the lore - you take away the first person perspective, the non-targeting action, etc... it's not really TES anymore.

I wish they had used some of the funding going into this MMO toward an animator for a first person body in Skyrim. That crazy floating eye crap drives me nuts. I mean COME ON!

They'll try to ride the Skyrim name for all its worth...and then crater.

That's my prediction anyway.

"Oh wow!! This is an MMO based on the same world as Skyrim!!! It'll be like playing Skyrim, only multiplayer!!!" Smitten

No...no it won't! Nono

Yeah, the only thing I'm excited about is being able to go from Morrowind to Elsweyr to Cyrodiil, but from the sound of it they're making each of those areas smaller, so eh.

The rest of it is just bog standard MMO trivial crap. Hasn't ToR proven to these guys that "just make WoW with a different skin" DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE??

I guess not. I guess Zenimax is happy with an MMO that will sell about a million copies and will have a few hundred thousand people active after their free month is over.

The only thing that interested me from the article was the screenshots of the dark elf armor/settings from Morrowind. Other then that I have zero interest in this.
