Nope, I use the default keys. Maybe it is your perif and they don't support it yet?

Yeah, you wouldnt have experienced any of this with default keys ^_^

And the keypad I use is a USB keyboard just with a partial set of keys for gaming. No drivers or buttons/keys besides the generic keyboard ones. (well there's a volume up/down, but that's about as exotic as it gets) a pic
Looks like an awesome gamepad MW... USB though which means it probably DOES have it's own drivers. You just don't notice during install because Windows automatically installs either from the internet or from drivers stored on the device itself (which is one of the huge benifits of USB devices). Not saying this is the problem but I can pretty much assure you that the key mapping for the 'A' button on this device is not the same map as the 'A' on your standard 104 or QWERTY keyboard.

Just out of curiosity, do you have full admin rights on the computer you are using?

My goodness! I had NO IDEA about Elective Mode!

Why on Earth has Blizzard that mode OFF on default? It's almost as freaking stupid as having the region on The Americas on default. You don't wanna know how many Europians wasted hours of their lives realizing they were leveling a hero on the wrong server.

But seriously, Elective Mode will be a major gameplay changer for me. Can't wait to play tonight!

My current beef is this:

It's been multiple times by now that I have had a level up and a new skill was revealed that left me thinking "What. The. Fuck!? WHY would I want to use that skill instead of this other awesome one?".

Some class skills in this game are so freaking sad.

Demoralizing shout? Really!? Rend!?!? Maybe that's somehow good skills in Inferno mode, sure, but I just wanna smash through things and see them explode.

It's not as much a big deal as I perhaps make it sound, but it does "kinda" piss me off ingame.

Now that has got to be one of the single best ways I have ever seen to get a company to address an issue via a support ticket. Get mad and talk down to them... hmmm.

Personally, I use a custom key config and mine saves just fine and I have never had a problem with it. What custom controler are you using?

My controls reset to default every time I exit the game. I have to rebind *EVERYTHING* 2+ times/day

I use a custom keypad where every key in the game is re-bound to something more convenient and matching to it's layout. I spent alot of time repeatedly fine tuning this only to find I have to change *every single key* back the way I want it as your fine "online only single player game" cant be bothered to give a damn about remembering my controls after it exits and drops connection from the server.

I can estimate its taken about an hour and a half resetting the keys over and over every time I start the game, and thats just not fair. I got this game to play it, not sit in the menu trying to remember which key goes where when the game should just have my controls saved in a simple easy file next to my game.

I assume it's having to connect to your "online only single player game" server to sync my controls and failing this somewhere along the way. Please fix this quickly because it's really really, *really* getting obnoxious.

Thank you for your time.

I've completed my first playthrough and was really unimpressed with the final act. The game had a lot of variety up until that point - both in terms of narrative and level themes - but once you hit ActIV it's just battle after battle, with very little to keep you interested. It just feels like it was rushed and it makes the game feel short. I didn't get the same feeling with Dragon Age, by comparison.

Still, the game is a lot of fun co-op. I'll be starting my second playthrough on Nightmare, mainly so I can upgrade my jeweller and blacksmith as they both require training pages and they're exceptionally rare in Normal difficulty (I didn't come across any). I like that upgrading them is done on the account rather than the character, so progress is maintained. I've got two characters - demon hunter and witch doctor - and I found them both to be very competent, though the demon hunter is my favourite.

Exactly. Was gonna say that but read your post just in time.

As for the game itself... well, it's almost a kind of on-rails feeling, however ridiculous that sounds. It's because of the character development. In the first, what? 20 levels? there isn't really any thinking involved considering how you want to build your character.

At those "early" levels you only have 4 skills to use during battle -- which is probably why my wife enjoys the game. And, worst of all, you can't really customize your character to how you like to play and screw it up in the process. I know there's some simpletons out there shouting "CHOICE IS AN ILLUSION!" kind of utter bullshit, but being able to choose permanent upgrades with the possibility of screwing up in the process are what made these kind of games extra fun to me. It was that danger of screwing up that made the cogs in my brain turn a bit, which is a nice sensation in a game with such mindless gameplay.

That being said, the game is good fun. Was the hype justified? NEVER that. Maybe one day even some of the zombie fanboys will admit that.

Truth be told it appears that people are starting to realize D3 is a good MP game but isn't close to the greatness of D2 and even D1. Even the official reviews from big sites point that, good game but not great.

I'm positive that in a few months time people will realize they bought D3 for the name alone, all the while playing another game.

Wow -- more negative user reviews than positive. I'm actually a bit surprised by that. Although I suppose many positives aren't taking the time to stop playing...

EDIT: Great point he also makes, if this had been done by EA there woul be bloody murder. Since it's made by Blizzard and Diablo everything seems to be alright.

A point worth remembering is that EA wasn't always near-universally despised. They had a good reputation among the gaming community for many years before they fucked it up. Time will tell if Blizzard's continuous regression will cost them their reputation in the same way.

They have used up their good will with me, and are dead to me. But right now, I'm in the distinct minority.
