Diablo III Wizard Trailer

This new trailer from Diablo III introduces the Wizard in Blizzard's upcoming action/RPG sequel. The clip includes cinematics, gameplay, and an imposing voiceover to explain the arcane power of this mystical class. Presumably the wizard's chirpy (if not twerpy) little voice is a spell so her enemies mistake her for Seong Mi-na or something.

Putting people on ignore is a convenience feature, it doesn't mean other people have to stop replying. You've specifically replied several times so I know you read them anyway. Most normal people manage to have reasonable disagreements without resorting to childish temper tantrums and that is why other posters accuse of you bias. Contrary to your belief I've never had a personal problem with you, I have a problem with how you treat everyone else.

It is not a personal attack to say that you have a bias for Blizzard products when you so voraciously defend them at every opportunity. I don't get why admitting that is so difficult either, most adults can admit they have biases and dislikes. I have many myself, humans are not perfectly objective robots who weigh things equally at all times.

Also if posting text while at work, playing games on the internet and going out of your way to namedrop your ignore list at every opportunity means someone "has no life", then you probably fit that category too. Just sayin

Playing the victim isn't very convincing either, for example your first post in this thread starts with:

Yea, those of us that aren't just out to bitch about all things D3.

when (most) people were just discussing a single Wizard skill pretty reasonably.

Just ignore the fucktards that want to attack everyone for enjoying their games of choice. I've got them all ignored, but sadly when you guys quote them I can see what was said anyways. I could give 2 shits what they have to say as in the end I won't ever be playing these games with them an that is a blessing.

Not really, most people like things without getting rude and offensive in the extreme over disagreements on every little nuance. I like plenty of Blizzard related games and media but I don't get all up in a huff when anyone dares to disagree with my opinion on it and then go on a big rant about how everyone who voices dissent is a troll. He earns the shill moniker all by his lonesome.

Edit: This vid is a year old, and made before runestones or whatever were taken out so things are probably a bit different but the point remains, the skill has multiple variants.

Many of the runes are just plays on the damage type or adding a snare which gives some situational usefulness but doesn't really add a lot of actual variety. There are some decent runes but that posted image that fanboy mentioned is a falsehood.

Liking a game doesn't make one a shill.

I enjoyed the Diablo III beta. I've pre-ordered the game based on the strength of it. Now I've got to get all the rest of my gaming in before that inevitably takes a good chunk out of my life.

Yea, those of us that aren't just out to bitch about all things D3. There are actually more options than there are in D2 per class, but the naysayers just see the base skills as being static. Someone posted an image other day with the number of options a max lvl Wizard has in D3 compared to the Sorcerer in D2. D3 tripled or quadrupled D2.

The lack of placing attribute points and attribute point requirements doesn't bother me either. I don't feel like I've lost anything from gameplay.

Auction House has gold and real money options. I'll use the gold version mostly, but maybe I'll even make a few extra $$ with the real money version.

I'm going to have multiple characters on the go, not sure if I'll finish the game with one before going to the other. Depends on how many coop games with various friends I get going. But I have intended for awhile for the Wizard to be my first toon launch night. I was originally thinking Demon Hunter, but everyone and their dog has been saying Barbarian or Demon Hunter as their first.

I quite enjoyed the Wizard in the beta. As already noted the Frost Nova + Wave of Force is a fun combo...as seen several times in the video above.

Exactly

It even works the same, and the effects are pretty similar.

It's also almost just as overpowered as that spell was in the original torchlight. (They gimped it (rightfully) in a later patch.)

Get a fucking clue you halfwit gamer. People like you, that think its "cool" to hate on what is obviously the biggest game release of the year, are fucking morons.

First of all, the "open beta" contains content and code that is clearly representative of what we'll see in the released game. (That's safe to say considering it's out in roughly two weeks from now.)

By your logic, Duke Nukem Forever when it debuted at $60 was way better than all the cheaper FPS games that had come out around the same time.

I get it, you like the game, good for you. But it's just a game. Seriously. It is hardly worth the vitriol you're spewing here.

I don't like the game; get over it. You want to fill Blizzard's pockets with money? Ok, do that. Pay your 15% at the door:

Blizzard to take 15% of auction house transactions...

Oh, I see, someone espouses an opinion you don't agree with and suddenly they're "clueless".

Perhaps you'd like to see my two bookcases of 115+ PC games starting from the 1980's on 3.5" floppy disk, CD, and DVD? No?

Rest assured, I have a clue (I used to own the board game too ;)).

I suppose you play Gnomes in World of Warcraft too right?

No, I actually despise the gnomes. When I did play WoW (its been quite a while), I actually liked the Tauren best (war stomp FTW!).

Although as someone else pointed out, Gnomes used to be the most popular for PvP as they were harder to see and Blizzard accidentally screwed up the bounding hit boxes for them at one point.

Demon Hunter and Wizard for me all the way. I haven't found Ray of Frost particularly interesting at all, I hope the later runewords improve it substantially. I was upset when they moved Disintegrate up to a higher Clvl because that skill is extremely fun, palate swap or not.

With the wizard in the beta, I loved getting surrounded by as many enemies as possible, hitting Frost Nova (with the runeword) and then Wave of Force immediately after. That is a potent combo.

Unfortunately my hype for D3 has lessened of late. I spent a weekend with Guild Wars 2 and it's all I can think about. They call it, the GW2 Effect. The inability to think about, let alone play for more than an 20 minutes, any game, especially an MMOG, after witnessing the glory that is Guild Wars 2.

Trust me, I have it bad.

I was the opposite. I've been in the GW2 beta since it started. Played it once for an hour, never touched it again. I found it pretty boring and hated the camera angles. Still, I have been finding a lot of games boring lately. I was in the D3 beta for months and just started playing it several weeks ago.

To each his own man. It took me a few hours before I really started to enjoy the game. Long enough to unlock most the skills on my Elementalist's preferred weapons, to get to a point (around level 6 or 7) to find somewhat challenging enemies and to really learn my class. Once I did that, I had a blast the entire weekend. The game has a serious skill ceiling. I saw Ele's bitching on the forums about being to weak without enough survivability at the same time I was soloing Lieutenants (sub-bosses) a few levels above me. Mind, it wasn't easy, it requires quick thinking and strategy. But man was it fun.

That's kinda funny. I know someone who plays a gnome, and is the most feared pvper on the battle group with people fleeing when he joins. Good times, good times.

Ah hudson, if you weren't so bitter ... well I just don't know. But things wouldn't be quite so interesting.

I don't know, Wizard didn't do it for me in beta. The signature spells felt really iffy and it probably didn't help that Ray of Frost and Disintegrate look like color swaps. Be interesting to see how the later spells flesh it out in retail. The videos of Hydra make it look fairly neutered compared to D2 but oh well.

Out of morbid curiosity, I played the open beta w/ the wizard. The ray of frost felt so much like I was playing the ember mage in Torchlight it was uncanny 8)
