I actually can't wait, I've already preordered. I've played the demo like 5 times doing different things. The first time I played it i had gone in the building after setting the tnt charges, and as I entered the last room with the sniper across the street on the roof, I quickly proned. I didnt know there was a nazi just outside the door. When I focused and zoomed in as soon as I fired the other nazi walked in the doorway, the bullet killed him, and then the damaged bullet made it way to the sniper tumbling all the way. Then I had the x-ray on the sniper showing the damaged bullet entering and exiting. I thought was cool.

I hope they do fix the AI. Nothing is more aggrivating than to hear the Germans see a dead body, search for you, tell the others that it's all clear/go back to your patrol and then see the same dead body and scream out there's a sniper: find him!

I am really liking the demo. The PC version runs great, looks awesome, and the gameplay is fun. What else could I ask for?
It is not perfect of course the AI have some issues, but which game is perfect these days, and the devs are very active on the Steam boards, so that is a good sign.
Also there are features in the PC version that is not available in the console versions, like 12 player TDM.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm gonna check it out this weekend.

X-Ray Kill Cam - Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.

wow, thats pretty intense

im not a fan of the WW2 stuff, but this sounds like an interesting sim type game

Nothing is really all that graphic in terms of visceral wounds...well, except for the 'graze of the jaw' hits which seem to turn the target's mouth inside out.

The x-ray cam probably isn't fully implemented in the demo simply because the hits I was making didn't really scream "hearts and lungs tear" but more like "bullet go in here, exit there". Bone shatters are pretty fun to watch though...but again, they don't seem to be fully implemented.

Oooh, violence for violence's' sake...I like it!

I have the first one, and while fun (at times), it gets a little bogged down. The missions are a little dull, somewhat erratic in mission progression. The textures are downright ugh-ley! But it's a fun little romp, quickly forgotten. I'm selling mine for $7 (along with a whole bunch of other games) at SimHQ's Buy/Sell/Trade board.

Personally, I liked Sniper: Ghost Warrior much more. Modern day weapons and enviros and a kick-ass slo-mo kill-cam that I could watch all damn day. In fact there are certain parts of missions I have a save so I could go back and do them over and over. Mainly shooting bad guys from a long way away, like a sniper should. The slo-mo never gets old. I'm hopin' the second one is everything the first was and more. Same for this one, gonna have to pick up the demo and see for myself...

A Rebellion game getting praise in these parts?

There's a bit of a breeze in hell today.

I'm excited for this. Didn't play the first.

Could we have a new genre here?

Hope that the cryengine sniper game coming out is good to go as well. Wish that one had coop though.

Great demo. Although a bit short, this one's going on my must buy list. Wish the environments were a bit more destruct-able. But hey, there's nothing like sniping a Nazi's nuts off from 100 yards away. Fun times.

Sleeper hit of the year?

It does what it's trying to do pretty damn well. The demo itself has a ton of replayanility. There are clear and rational options for changing the difficulty. Perhaps some might find the highest difficulty to not be hard enough, but we'll see in the full game. Overall, the tight controls, scoring system and well-detailed slo-mo replays make long distance shooting feel truly fun.

It even looks and runs fantastic on my relatively modest setup.. If the multiplayer's any good, this will be a must buy for shooter fans.
