Indeed, good games. Even the last Splinter Cell was a good game, just not a good Splinter Cell game.
Conviction? Yeah I played that COOP (yet to play SP campaign) and it was really fun. Good COOP stealth action. It was the first of the series I played.

UPlay sounds more and more like another client that I have to run

It's been around since AC2 and is just a login, as far as I know.

I know all about UPlay in the past, I'm referring to this specific product and press release. Did you read it? Here:

"Online widget, party text chat, Uplay Friends System" accessible from any screen, etc. Sounds like its veering towards client or browser plugin land to me. I really hope it's just built into every game, I don't think the market has even fully accepted Origin yet, let alone another one.

QFT, discussion over.

A 3rd person 'shooter' with DRM and stupid uplay bloatwear? Get the fuck outta here ubisoft.

Gotta say, not buying EA and Ubisoft games is nice...feels good man.

Hopefully this isn't a pile of shit like there last several Tom Clancy games.
Obviously you missed Vegas and GRAW.

They offer some great NPC quotes as well. "hey asshole, hey!", "tango down".

Nice to see they're putting some effort into this port. Unfortunately, the game itself looks like CoD and GoW had a baby... a horribly generic modern military baby.

Good for Ubisoft. Now if they can just break their usual trend of ping ponging back and forth between extremes from one title to the next.

Dude, you act like they have physically abused you. Its just a video game company and PC consumers are now being heard. Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, Half-Life 2 and more are all more restrictive than th is. Just enjoy the games. There are a lot better reasons to have a crusade.

This all sounds pretty damn good to me. The DRM isn't draconian. They are providing multi-monitor support. They have a matchmaking and grouping system for their game. The minimum/recommended requirements of the game are way more than acceptable. And they are doing a multi-platform release, on top of all that, including the PC as one of them, and only holding off on the PC for less-than-a-month.

I don't know why so many of you have sandy vaginas over a press release like this. Maybe Ubisoft is trying to turn a new leaf with this game. They've obviously relaxed their DRM. If you got bit before by Ubisoft, hang back and see if they changed for the better, before making immediate judgments. People work hard on these games, you know? Some of them can actually turn out to be good.

They forgot the following PC version feature:

  • Turned the game from a retarded 3rd person GoW clone into a true first person Ghost Recon game

As long as the above feature is not implemented I'm not touching this shit.

If the MP game had dedicated servers and a proper server browser then I'd consider buying it. Otherwise non. I actually like 'capture the diamonds' in Far Cry 2 but they severely crippled it in that regard to where I didn't play it much.

Before LAN support, give us proper online play and not peer to peer matchmaking bs designed for 9 year olds who don't know the difference.

I am waiting. I'm waiting for them to patch out always on DRM out of year+ older games like the latest Settlers game. I have no idea why they don't do this, it would get them more sales, and it would be less of a drain on their DRM servers (the frequent downtime testifies to how much trouble they have with that).
