Ah, Bastion. A game that I always feel like I should buy; but something always holds me back, even at prices like that. I wish whatever that nagging feeling was would identify itself more clearly.

It's the curse of the indie game. Where you can't quite bring yourself to pay for something that looks visually interesting yet plays like a NES game and can usually be completed in 2 hours.

Indie games, the salvation of modern PC games. I'm sad to say.

You know, I realize that they released the game in the worst possible way imaginable, short of actually shooting the customer in the groin with a 12-guage when they buy it, but I (and you guys probably should) give them some credit for trying to fix this horrific cluster-fuck as fast as they can. They've earned a lot of respect from me that was lost at launch by explaining what's going on, listening to the community and dedicating everything to getting this thing to work. And, contrary to popular opinion, people do make colossal mistakes from time to time. If it was a Take2/BC3000AD type situation, my feelings would be much different, but this isn't, IMO. So I'll wait patiently until it becomes the game that was originally conceived...

I wonder if Sword of the Stars 2 works yet. Regardless, I expect this once-promising series is now effectively dead after the release disaster that surely killed any hope of sales good enough to ensure a sequel.

Sad but true. I wouldn't buy this game, not even now. It seems broken beyond repair. I might get the Dungeons of Dredmor pack though- a cup of coffee at Starbucks is more than $3.75.

The word count on patch notes since SotSII's first release is over 14,000 and counting. Oh yes.

It's an unusual game being published by a major company - something is always going to seem a bit strange about that.

It's great fun and I'd recommend it to anyone. The game mechanics are pretty simple, but the weapons and narration are a breath of fresh air, and the difficulty of some of the optional battles (especially achievement-related ones) is way out of my league.
