They are making a mess of this, who knows what the hell their plans are.
DA:O created a new sytem that felt it was made to play by pausing a lot. The base as a whole got used to that as DA. That said, I found the options shallow. But for version 1 ok, I get what the DA:O lover (which I wasn't) would assume, DA2 would build upon DA:O. Still be paused based mainly with more options. Logical.
DA2. Played demo, what I found how it worked best was to scrap pause base and play it full action. To me it played great that way and the spawns in that case were not a problem. HOWEVER there was a legion of players that were ready for more pause base action and spawns and such broke that.
So in my little world I did enjoy DA2 better, to me it played better as an action game then DA:O played as a fake turn based game. But I get that most players don't roll with what is given and set expectations on how they must play. I do get that.
But with all this new news. Are they going to come up with a 3rd way now to piss off DA:O'ers and the few that loved DA:2 as an action game? Seems plausible...
To me the only thing DA3 needs to be is DA2 with a new open world. Tired of Biowares NWN engine in insanely small areas and constant loads. Immersion breaking! Until they prove otherwise, I don't believe they can create a game engine themselves.
