In Diablo III, players take on the role of one of five heroic characters -- barbarian, witch doctor, wizard, monk, or demon hunter -- and engage in pulse-pounding combat with endless legions of evil. As they undertake an epic quest to rid Sanctuary from the corrupting forces of the Burning Hells, players will explore diverse and perilous settings, grow in experience and ability, acquire artifacts of incredible power, and meet key characters who’ll join them in battle or aid them in other ways.
Diablo III was built from the ground up to leverage the full functionality of the Battle.net platform, which delivers powerful matchmaking and communication tools, allowing adventurers to seamlessly join forces for exciting cooperative play. Battle.net also provides a secure infrastructure for the Diablo III auction house, a feature-rich marketplace that Sanctuary’s heroes can use to trade their hard-earned treasures. Players will be able to buy and sell weapons, armor, and other valuable items in the auction house in exchange for in-game gold. Players will also have the option to receive real-world currency for auction house sales, which they can apply to their Battle.net Balance for the purchase of a variety of digital products through Battle.net, including Diablo III auction house items, or cash out through a third-party payment service such as PayPal™ in most regions. Further details related to the auction house will be announced in the coming weeks.

It's a totally valid concern and I suggest those affected vote with their wallets

Then it should have a different title than Diablo 3, as it is a substantial change from Diablo 1&2 based on your statement above.

Should have been called "World Of Diablo" or something to set correct expectations.

I played Diablo 1/2 about 50/50, so I disagree with your assessment that Diablo 1/2 were SP focused games. Should have been called "World Of Diablo" or something to set correct expectations. For some with unreliable internet, oh well

Its a wrist rest by the guys who also make a little glove thing with built in cushion. Its filled with these little balls that adjust to your hand and cushion it at the same time. Thats the cheapest easiest thing you can do to adjust. There's other solutions such as changing the level of your chair or desk (or install a keyboard/mouse drawer). I've even seen a mouse shelf that bolts to a chair arm rest.

Haha no shit man, getting old sucks. I have to take a break every 30 minutes in BF3 or my wrist starts to hurt.
Diablo 3 is primarily a coop/multiplayer game that is far better served by having a closed system to maintain more control to prevent cheating and duping... ;but it's mostly a mindset issue because Diablo 1/2 (the last being released 10 years ago) had a separate single player mode for a time when online play was not the focus.
For some with unreliable internet, oh well

That's never happened to me yet, in roughly 20 games delivered. To be fair, Amazon SHIPS the game the day before, and it's not really their fault if UPS or Fedex fuck up.
You're assuming Amazon ships the game at all. With Dark Souls, they failed to ship my copy until the day of the release. I ended up buying a copy at Gamestop and returning the Amazon copy. Amazon gave me a $5 gift certificate in compensation even though the customer service representative on the phone claimed they'd give me $20.
My head loves the whole idea of this game but the tendons in my hand scream NO!

I might make a run at it this week, since I'm pretty close already. I just need to find a bunch of suckers willing to die so that I can revive them.

Your 100% correct, people are only "OK" with this because it is a Diablo game, this has been proven by Assassins Creed which got HAMMERED for having an always on, persistent connection to play SP.
Undocumented Alien wrote on Mar 15, 2012, 12:54:If this were any game but D3(and it IS good, unfortunately, from beta experience) I would bypass it because of the DRM
I total understand that for sure. Being a HUGE D1 & D2 fan, this is very difficult as I don't want to support this behavior by a game company (and most didn't let Assassins Creed get away with it).
Rewarding bad behavior is always a struggle, especially when your a parent and you know you shouldn't, but sometimes it's just easier.

I wonder if its worth replaying the beta to get the achieves again and to see what the state of the game is. Like will they give any of the full achieve beta players anything in the real game (like a unique flag symbol, etc).

I would guess that if you complete the achieve or completing the selected beta achievesthat will result in a Feat Achieve in the final release.
