Out of the Blue

Well, we survived our lost hour here well enough... I still have a couple of clocks to change, which will give me more to grumble about, but most of the important clocks update themselves automatically well enough (except for iPhones, of course). I should be grumbling about anything of course, especially today, as it marks the one-year anniversary of the devastating Japanese earthquake and tsunami. I saw a television piece this morning on the aftermath, and it's sad to see how slowly the recovery is progressing just due to how difficult it is to dispose of potentially radioactive debris, which is a tricky problem to say the least.

Daylight Saving is not a Plurel! it is either ON of OFF!

You seem to have posted a correction here that was meant for the Huffington Post?

And it's "plural" and "or."

Still, it's amazing and more than a little encouraging that no health issues have popped up.

Those kinds of things will show up years later.

I thought their clean up method for nuclear waste was straightforward? They were dumping it in the ocean and letting it wash up on someone else's country.

And thus the war against Dolphin and Whale goes nuclear.

The only thing more time consuming than disposing of nuclear waste is Japanese bureaucracy. Still, it's amazing and more than a little encouraging that no health issues have popped up.

Re: Mars Tornado Photo

The article referenced never calls the dust devil a tornado, and even explains why it isn't a tornado, yet the Huffers put "Mars Tornado' in the title....

It's been on the net for roughly a month? But was amazing to hear the passengers think it was part of the rocket seperation when it happened.

So I go look at the Mars Tornado photo. Off to the side is a link to never before seen footage of the Challenger disaster. Word of advice, if you don't want all of those feelings to come back to you then don't watch. I wish I hadn't. So so sad.

I already sent in that link and Blue posted it yesterday.

I still have a couple of clocks to change

I'm having visions of Doc Brown's place, during the opening credits of BTTF.
